what's the purpose of the UK royal family??? to get richer every year without any taxes while the UK citizens have to pay taxes and pay for the royalty lavish life 🤔

The Duchy of Lancaster is owned by the Royal Family. Income from that all that property is controlled by the government, and they return an amount each quarter or yearly to the Royal family. Is that a tax!!?? The Duke of Cornwall Prince William, pays tax on all the income he earns from that Duchy. I do believe its called INCOME TAX!? I would be very well off if I could gain just one months worth of the taxes the Royal Family pay.

I hate to break it to you, and do so as gently as I can; The Duchy of Cornwall (William/Prince of Wales) and The Duchy of Lancaster (Charles/His Majesty The King) both pay taxes (voluntarily) at comme

What makes you think that the royal family do not pay any taxes?  The King does, voluntarily, as does the Prince of Wales.  Other members pay tax in the normal way.

Does Old King Charlie not pay tax on all that polish that his servants use to clean all these unearned medals he wears which he aqquired only because of his birth?

I've no idea but I am sure that at least he can spell "acquired" correctly.

"...all these unearned medals he wears which he aqquired only because of his birth?".

Such ignorance, you really need to check up on the meaning of many of those medals related to his military service.

I’d gladly suffer life under the UK monarchy than live under a presidential system like the US is about to experience AGAIN.

Military service. :cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:. Which wars did he fight in? :cheesy::cheesy:.

I guess by your post that you'd rather have President Starmer, Blair, Truss or May. Imagine the embarrassment of having President Raynor or Lammy. No thanks! I'd rather keep the royals, warts and all.

But, when the start behaving badly like Boris or Randy Andy you vote them out.  You cannot vote out this guy for 'adultery'

There have been questions about this family from the moment they

changed their name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor, during WW1, in order to pretend they were not German.

They had been the Royal family for getting on for 200 years or so when they changed their family name. Prior to that we had the Dutch (William and Mary), Scots ( Stuarts), Welsh (Tudors), for a long time the French (in the guise of the Normans. By my reckoning that makes Harold (the one that got slotted at Hastings in 1066) the last English monarch!

There are many examples of bees in bonnets kicking around on these forums, but to claim that the current Royal Family (Windsors) are German really is a classic!

Harold was indeed the last English monarch. Sad.

No objection to monarchies in general so long as they act in the best interests of their country. The Windsors, so called, while not holding direct power, have failed on many occasions to use their enormous influence to benefit Britain.  A classic example was their support for Britain's unnecessary involvement in WW1 which resulted in tragic losses for countless British families including my own.

Is there actually any head of state whose forebears don't have some foreign ancestry? Is there actually any person whose forebears are 'pure blood'?

One does not need to fight in wars when one serves.

In fact, the armed forces should not need to fight, just be prepared to if it comes to it. But that's a philosophical viewpoint, away from award of medals. From the King flows all honours. He is the Sovereign.

He was an Anglo Saxon king Of most of of what became England. (minor boundary changes!)

Since 1603 (Union of the crowns) when the Scots took over via James V1 of Scotland and became James 1 of England.

Great Britain appeared in 1707 with the Acts of Union!

The last English king of England was Harold. The rest were, inter-alia, French, Scottish, Welsh, Dutch and German.

I will fly back to the UK and and ask him!

Use your common sense and go look at the internet and see how the Civil List is funded.  Compare the Civil List funding to a salary.

Household staff will carry out his cleaning requirements. Charles pays the household staff from the Civil List and they buy stuff from the high street where VAT is charged.  Therefore Charles pays VAT!

Military service ?? He started with the army as some sort of high rank commander, so what military experience or knowledge did he ever have?? The guy is a complete joke with all his medals, bling and funny hats.

I was responding to a specific question regarding HM the King and VAT!

I suggest you get smarter before making fatuous and inaccurate comments!

Yes, military service.  Six years in the RAF, initially as a flight lieutenant.
