On the morning of November 5, at approximately 08:40, police in Khao Khitchakut District, Chanthaburi Province, were alerted to the discovery of a deceased wild elephant near a road within a durian orchard in Moo 9, Khlong Phlu Subdistrict.

Initial findings suggest the young male elephant, estimated to be around two years old, had been dead for approximately six hours.

Upon inspecting the scene, authorities found an electrical wire tangled around the elephant’s neck near where it lay. Two utility poles were also found broken nearby, with wires running alongside the road that were reportedly used for nearby household purposes.

It has not yet been determined if this electrical supply was officially installed or were a temporary supply installed by the households themselves.

Relevant agencies are actively investigating the incident to determine the precise cause of death and are preparing to take appropriate legal action as more details emerge.
