Police arrested a 25 year old Thai woman at a Bangkok hotel for operating a prostitution ring and pimping out three girls aged between 14 and 16.

Officers from the Children and Women Protection Sub-division received a tip-off that girls under 18 were being sent to work as party entertainers. In addition to entertaining clients, they were also forced to provide sexual services to interested customers.

Undercover officers contacted the procurer, known as “Mo Aom,” via her LINE account “Jt.” They requested three girls and arranged a meeting at a hotel on Soi Somdet Phra Chao Taksin 33 in the Bukkhalo district of Bangkok.

The procurer agreed to the booking, charging 1,500 baht per person. At around 11.30pm on Wednesday, November 6, the officers revealed their identities and arrested “Mo Aom,” later identified as 25 year old On-uma.

Three young girls, aged 14, 15, and 16, were rescued as victims of the prostitution ring. Each girl stated that they earned 1,000 baht per service, with the remaining 500 baht going to On-uma. The 4,500 baht paid by the officers for the girls served as evidence of the illegal operation.

On-uma faces two charges:

  • Section 6 of the Prevention and Suppression of Human Trafficking Act: Seeking benefit from prostitution involving persons over 15 years of age but under 18 years of age. The penalty is six to 15 years’ imprisonment and a fine of 600,000 to 1.5 million baht.
  • Section 277 of the Criminal Law: Sexually assaulting a minor under 13 years old. The penalty is imprisonment from seven to 20 years and a fine of 140,000 to 400,000 baht, or life imprisonment.

It's a sad and confusing story about ancient business.

The mama-san offers money to underage girls for sexual actions.

I'm very sure the young girls knew what they had to do. And they did it voluntarily for money.

Who is to blame?

The girls for greediness or the parents neglecting their children or at least not knowing what they do/where the money came from.

These 3 have been "rescued". However, now the know how to earn money when they are 18.

Many university girls/men offer sex for money.

So not surprising.

Who is to blame?

IMO - everyone except the naive young teens, who were likely cajoled into the trade by family and pimps.

But, especially, the pimps and their customers who want to have sex with children. Disgusting animals!

Lack of emp.....hum...These girls should be at school man. Point.

School in the daytime, making finances in the evening... yes these were young, but they still need money

instead of part-time work it's do a trick at night.

How do you think most female students pay for University... soapy massages at night.

Lack of employment opportunities and the low daily wage drive people to things like this.

As does human traffickers, parents that force their daughters to work in the sex trade so they can send money back to the disturbed parents, addicted to drugs by others, then sold for profit, abusive or a molested childhood so their thinking is skewed towards sex to those who pay for same.

I would think most are paid by parents who care or part time work , or both. There are plenty of jobs available where girls don't have to lower themselves selling their bodies.

How do you know many university girls offer sex for money? Personal experience or hearsay? There is a huge human trafficking network operating in Thailand, helped along by some officials to look the other way for a bribe.Who's to blame are the scumbags that purchase these girls, along with some parents and of course the operators of the business, who's punishment should be permanent.

The pimp and the customers, they are children.

Pimp: Someone who controls prostitutes and arranges clients for them, taking part of their earnings in return.

So pimp and customers are definitely not children (in this case)

He knows that, you missed what he meant. The pimps and customers are adults, and these are children they're selling.

Can we be kept updated about this story or is this a single news header without follow-up?

True, I'm sure most would like to see a followup where the pimp and whatever customers are caught spending a few years sleeping on a dirty floor with 100 more of the same types.

Enlighten me. I don't understand him/his answer.

You said........."Who is to blame"? ...........He said............"The pimp and the customers, they are children.".........meaning, the pimps and customers are to blame, because, "they, the 14 to 16 year olds, are children.

my lads play football with kids from what i would class typical Thai families. None of them would take this line, they are honest hard working people, not sure where you get this idea from, frankly I think you are sick minded.

Go-to Pattaya or any tourist place in Thailand and look how many girls/boys are calling for customers half naked in the streets. Guess they were not playing football with your lads?

Just wondering,  do you live in Thailand? And if you do, do you live under a rock? Thailand looks at sex differently than we do in the West! Even some hairdressers will turn a trick or two. I remember in my village a girl who just turned 16 married a Thai guy 55. People in the village thought it was good because the guy helped her parents financially.  14 an 15 year old girls often marry . The dowry paid and wedding party held. Mind you most are single again in a few years,  bady with grandparents and girl off working... that's Thailand.

Nonsense, how are girls below 16 able to make such decisions ? They are kids

Makes me wonder how you can make suck statements, and it feels like an excuse to extort and abuse younger girls. Guys like you make me sick and angry.

I wonder if they have children of their own? Almost goes without saying that there are very many sick minded individuals amongst us.
