Elderly Shop Owner's Dispute with Younger Partner Escalates to Knife Attack
A family dispute took a violent turn on November11, when a 51 year old man, Mr. Panudet, attacked his partner's son with a knife after a heated argument. The incident occurred at a small convenience store on Soi Sup Boon Chai, Bang Mueang Subdistrict, Samut Prakan, around 19:10. The shop owner, a 72-year-old woman who has been in a relationship with Mr. Panudet for over a year, explained that recent tensions had led her to stay at her son's home to avoid conflict. However, she was frustrated when Mr. Panudet invited friends to drink at her shop in her absence. Upon her son's return from work, she asked him to talk to Mr. Panudet, hoping he would leave the premises peacefully. The elder son, Mr. San, 50, recounted that his mother had asked him to speak with Mr. Panudet and request him to leave. Upon arriving, he found Mr. Panudet drinking with three friends and noticed a knife nearby, which he moved away to prevent any issues. However, during the conversation, Mr. Panudet retrieved the knife and attempted to strike Mr. San. In the scuffle, Mr. San's younger brother, Mr. Phichawat, was injured while trying to intervene. Local police have detained Mr. Panudet and are interviewing witnesses to clarify the events. Mr. Phichawat will also provide his statement after he has fully recovered from his injuries, allowing authorities to proceed with legal action. Picture from responders. -- 2024-11-13 -

David Lammy Under Pressure to Apologize for Past Comments on Trump
This man is the perfect example of diversity hire. A loud-mouthed ignoramus that is surely the stupidest person in politics and that includes Diane. -

Republicans win control of the US House of Representatives
Not only a majority but not as anti Trump as the one he had first time. As long as he doesn't employ another Sessions, he'll be able to get his policies done without the past resistance. No doubt the Dems will whine and moan and try to sabotage him, but it's just sour grapes, and hopefully he can ignore the whining. Who's a winner? Trump is a WINNER. I'm looking forward to seeing him get stuck in on January 21, and getting the job done that he was unable to get done the first time. -

Electrical Short Circuit Sparks Incident at Triam Udom Suksa School
A brief but alarming incident occurred on the morning of November 12, at Triam Udom Suksa School in Bangkok’s Pathum Wan District, when an electrical short circuit triggered smoke throughout one of the school’s main buildings. The incident was quickly contained, with no injuries reported. At approximately 11:00, smoke was spotted emerging from the school’s main electrical control panel on the second floor of the Khunying Khunrang Building. The Banthat Thong Fire and Rescue team responded immediately, arriving on the scene and successfully ventilating the smoke-filled areas within 30 minutes. Following safety protocols, the school quickly evacuated students and staff. Mr. Surapong, a school security officer, noted that all students were safely led outside the building as the fire department worked to contain the situation. Officials from Pathum Wan Police Station and fire investigators are examining the control panel and surrounding equipment to determine the exact cause of the short circuit. Initial reports suggest it was a malfunction in the main control panel. Further investigation is ongoing to ensure the safety of the school’s electrical systems moving forward. No injuries were reported, and classes are expected to resume as usual once the inspection is complete. Pictures from responders. -- 2024-11-13
