As the much-anticipated fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul approaches, Tyson has been preparing rigorously for his return to the ring after nearly two decades. Scheduled to take place at Arlington's AT&T Stadium on November 15, this bout marks Tyson's first officially sanctioned fight in 19 years, and the 58-year-old has made drastic changes to his diet, lifestyle, and training regimen in anticipation of facing his 27-year-old opponent.

The former world heavyweight champion, known as "Iron Mike," has spent the majority of this year in intense training for what will be his professional comeback. He’s shared glimpses of his training sessions on social media, demonstrating impressive speed, power, and a chiseled physique. Tyson himself recently spoke about the dedication and discipline his preparation requires.

In an appearance on *Jimmy Kimmel Live*, Tyson outlined his daily routine, revealing a rigorous schedule with little room for rest. "I'm training extremely hard," he said, explaining, "I start at 11 [am] and I might leave the gym at 5 [pm]." He continued, "After I finish doing my boxing, I get a massage for an hour, and then I go right into strength and conditioning." This intense six-hour training day leaves Tyson with minimal breaks, an approach that underlines his commitment to being in peak condition for the fight. He also mentioned to *FOX News*, "I train every day, I’m taking it serious. It’s a whole day [of training], the process goes through the whole day."

Tyson has made radical adjustments to his lifestyle for this comeback. A longtime advocate for veganism, Tyson adopted a plant-based diet in 2010 after retiring in 2005. He cited his health and a desire to avoid foods that come from animals. Reflecting on his dietary choices, Tyson once told *GQ Sports*, "I don’t eat anything that has a mother and father. If you were created through a mother and father, through any kind of intercourse, I won’t eat you." He explained this philosophy meant he only consumed plant-based foods, embracing vegetables and other vegan staples.

However, in his quest to regain his former strength and stamina, Tyson has recently abandoned veganism, reintroducing meat to his diet. He discussed the decision on *The Joe Rogan Experience*, noting, "I stopped [eating vegan food] because of the training and because of what I wanted my body to look like and the strength that I wanted to possess." Along with this dietary shift, Tyson has also reportedly given up two other staples in his life: sex and cannabis, both of which he has abstained from during training to stay focused on his comeback.

The dedication shown by Tyson in his training is evident, as he prepares to fight an opponent 31 years his junior. This upcoming bout against Jake Paul will be a test of Tyson's physical prowess, discipline, and ability to withstand the demands of high-level competition once again. With a grueling training schedule, lifestyle sacrifices, and a revamped diet, Tyson is determined to make an impressive return, showcasing that age is no barrier when it comes to resilience and commitment to the sport.

Thank goodness (breathes a sigh of relief).

I don't think there are very many boxing experts that consider Paul to be a serious fighter, yes he is young, and yes he is strong, but is he clever? Is he talented?

He is certainly very talented at manipulating social media and becoming quite wealthy through its use. Does that translate to boxing? I think that many of us are hoping that he gets a very very serious whooping. He certainly comes across as being a very arrogant fool.

Is he really that broke for money that he has to return to the ring?

I suspect his promoters see an opportunity for a killing.

It doesn’t matter how good an athlete was when he was in his 20s and 30s, by the time he gets into his 50s he already lost a significant portion of his VO2Max.

If he can’t get a knock out in round one it’s going to be an embarrassing end to a great boxer.

He is a boxer, but still with limited experience. He had a split decision against Tommy Fury (brother of Tyson Fury) who is ranked nr 39 in cruiserweight same weight as Paul.

No matter who wins, Paul will be the loser! Tyson is an old man, and most likely both is on juice (steroids) for thos match, so Paul have advantage of being younger with more stamina. Personally I think this fight never should had happened, where I still pray for Tyson to knock him out on one punch. Most likely they will be clinching for all rounds, and one lucky shot will be the end of it either way

It's all about entertainment and money. Netflix are going to do well. Will the punters get their money's worth? Could be either great spectacle or a total flop in the ring.

Tyson is most likely going to get his butt kicked but so what he can take it and he’ll get paid a large wad of cash for the money generating show.

Tyson has probably forgotten more about defensive boxing than Paul will ever learn.

You may be right. However, there are scores of professional boxers that will attest to the fact Tyson was one of the most powerful punchers they ever faced, and it only takes one.

There are quite a few sports around where older people can give the younger ones a very bad time.

IMO a big factor in the fight is not VO2 max. It's speed.

There are quite a few sports where an athlete's decline is due to deteriorating reflexes and speed. Boxing is no exception.

Reflexes too, but VO2Max is if critical importance any effort over around 45 seconds, and these will be two minutes rounds.

Its going to be ugly.
