The rules are quite clear in respect of the State Pension, if you reside in the UK, or a few other countries, your State Pension will be uplifted annually.

 

If you live in Thailand, and numerous other countries, you don't get any increases.

 

It is your responsibility to keep the DWP advised of your current residential address.

 

If you decide to lie, then that's up you, you may get caught, in all probability you won't, I know of two that were.

 

Whilst my personal integrity wouldn't allow me to lie by not updating the DWP with my address details to receive the increases, I wouldn't criticise those whose integrity differs from mine.

 

I think we all agree the system is very wrong.

Every year those same politicians vote to deny some miltary veterans uprating on all the pension components of their state pension.

Anyone who would attempt to ridicule the situation should be hanging their head in shame.

My friend from Manchester said that the British government is setting up an online portal in Thailand so people can rat out UK pension "cheats".  There might even be financial incentives, and you don't have to be from the UK to collect them.

To be honest (officially )  I did quite well on the SERPS and graduated pensions add on, think it upped the OAP by a third
Its  stated time after time their "crackdown" is on UC and means tested benefits, nothing about so called fraud, if ever there was a fraud on OAP.    Yes thankfully its going to bite, can see place like Bradford, Blackburn, Rotherham being decimated

    I think the compounding on unfrozen pensions is wonderful, or not so with AN Other    Imagine 10, 11 ,12 years here and saying goodbye to TH. The unfrozen gets a brown envelope ,sack more than likely, on exit from TH with £30,000 in it,   frozen get an empty fag packet
