Tea lovers, help me

I bought bag of loose tea but can't find container to use it.

At home I have many, like "double spoon" w holes and egg size metal ball to fill up and dip to a cup.

I've been to swap meets and small and big shop - no luck.

Thais don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe they put tea crumbs to the cup?

What to use? A sock 🙂

Put the leaves in the tea pot, add boiling water and leave it to infuse for a few minutes, the leaves will settle at the bottom of the pot.  Pour the brewed tea into the cup, no other equipment needed.

Use an online shop if you want an item sold online!

Normal people use a strainer.  Go to Ikea.

Usually, yes, but I bough Thai tea and they keep floating....

Never seen that.

We got ours in a big department store. Just keep the picture and shop around. Probably have them on Lazada and Shoppee. If in Pattaya Central would be a good bet. Very easy to use and empty out old leaves.

I found a lot of thai teas were very fine, and I don't like bits in my tea so I use coffee filters to ensure nice clean tea right to the bottom of the mug

A lot of tea bags have very fine tea dust either on the inside or outside.  This dust leaves a nastly slick on the top of your mug of tea. 

To prevent this , give the tea bags a quick rinse under a cold tap before using. Result ....no slick.

Which "traditional UK" tea strainer?   I'm sure strainers are available for those who want them but I never saw any tea strainers in our family in all the years I was there, going back as far as my grandparents' time. The strainer at the base of the spout of the pot holds back leaves when getting to the bottom of the brew (where they settle) and even the pottery items, without such a strainer, don't start letting leaves out until there's practically no tea left to pour.  I know that because I currently use both a stainless steel pot and a ceramic one, never have a problem with leaves, never have.

I walked 10km and checked many stores, like Mr-DIY, hard ware stores, swap meets and ended to Big-C.

There I saw SS kitchen sink strainer (99 B) and "saw the light". That's it!

However, it was too shallow. On the way back saw small store across Supalai condo. They had what I wanted, deep one with large flange. Price 25 B. If you need same they had 3 more.

It's perfect.

I see the OP has now got a solution, but this on Lazada looks similar to the ones I saw in the UK before the advent of tea bags.

Is it the Thai loose leaf tea used to make the orange coloured iced tea?

 

Might want to switch to higher quality Chinese or Ceylon leaves. Actually there are very good Thai teas being grown near Chiang Rai. In all those cases you can go bareback. No sock, no strainer, like Liverpool Lou mentioned.
