Heated Brawl Between Motorcycle Taxi Driver and Customer in Front of Pattaya Police Station

A violent altercation broke out in front of the Pattaya City Police Station in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi, when a motorcycle taxi driver clashed with his passenger, drawing the attention of numerous tourists in the area.

 

The incident escalated dramatically when the driver, identified as Mr. Chaisan 36, allegedly pulled out a weapon resembling a short knife and stabbed the passenger, a Myanmar national, in the left side of his torso near the underarm. Following the attack, the driver initially fled towards the nearby police flats.

 

The altercation reportedly began when the passenger, Mr. Saw Hla Htav Han, 31, and his mother were traveling from a South Pattaya entertainment venue to their accommodation. Along the way, an argument erupted after Mr. Chaisan allegedly made inappropriate remarks and gestures.

 

Frustrated, Mr. Saw requested the driver to turn into Soi 9, near the police station, where the confrontation turned physical. The two exchanged blows before the driver resorted to using a weapon.

 

Eyewitnesses, including both Thai and foreign tourists, gathered to watch the chaotic scene until police intervened to prevent further escalation.

 

Both individuals were detained and brought into the station for questioning. Authorities charged them with "physical assault causing no serious harm to body or mind." Each was fined 1,000 baht for their actions.

Indeed...  OK.. so they are both guilty of fighting.

 

But only one of the took out and used a deadly weapon - that the Moto-Taxi rider faced the same charge as the Burmese man is an atrocious example of Thailands justice system.

 

It's high time Moto-Taxi riders, Taxi drives, TukTuk drivers are regularly stopped as a matter of routine and checked for weapons, licences, insurance, existing arrest warrants etc..

Because the victim was Burmese and they are classed as one the lowest class of people in Thailand.

Did the one who used a weapon to stab the other not get a harsher punishment?

 

Funny thing is, the taxi driver grabbing the other guys shirt balanced him and practically swung his arm into the taxi driver's face.  Then he got an easy kick to the face.

 

If course that was time to get out the weapon...  🙄

Thai vs. foreigner.  They probably would have liked to have just charged the Burmese man, but they had the Thai on camera stabbing him.
