Social Media Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Jennifer Rubin, a columnist for *The Washington Post*, has ignited a fierce debate with a controversial claim made during her podcast, "Jen Rubin’s Green Room." In a viral clip, Rubin declared, “Republicans want to kill your kids. It’s actually true.” Her remarks, delivered with unwavering conviction, were intended as advice for Democrats on sharpening their messaging, but they have since sparked widespread criticism. Rubin, who has been a prominent voice for the paper since 2010, argued that Republicans’ stances on issues like vaccine opposition, limiting medical research, and the accessibility of semiautomatic weapons contribute directly to threats against children’s safety. “If you’re going to oppose vaccinations, if you’re going to stop breakthrough medical research, if you’re going to allow minors and all sorts of people to get semiautomatic weapons — which they use to shoot up schools — well then, you are responsible for kids’ health and death,” she said. These statements have drawn sharp rebukes from conservative figures and commentators. Activist Robby Starbuck labeled Rubin’s remarks as unhinged, writing on X (formerly Twitter), “She should be fired over this if there’s any sanity left in the world,” while tagging Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos. Other critics echoed his sentiments, calling Rubin a “deranged nut case” and questioning why the newspaper provides her with a platform. Criticism of Rubin’s comments also extended to broader attacks on mainstream media. “Jennifer Rubin is a prime example of what is wrong with MSM,” noted one social media user. Others accused her of suffering from "Trump derangement syndrome," a term often used to describe those intensely opposed to the former president. “Rubin has been unhinged since Trump won in 2016. As years go by, she’s incapable of any rational thought any longer! Trump broke her,” another critic commented. Rubin’s broader criticisms of Donald Trump and his appointees have been a consistent theme in her writing and public commentary. On her podcast, she described the former president’s cabinet nominees as “unfit” and “reckless,” urging senators to block their confirmations. Her strong views often resonate with her audience but also fuel significant backlash from those on the opposite side of the political spectrum. The controversy surrounding Rubin’s statements comes amid ongoing tensions at *The Washington Post*, owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Recently, Bezos opted not to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential bid, breaking a longstanding tradition at the paper. This decision, which Rubin publicly criticized, further amplified internal and external debates about the paper’s direction and political neutrality. Rubin’s response to Bezos’ decision was equally fiery. She accused the billionaire of prioritizing business interests over principles, calling his explanation for the change “bulls–t” and alleging he was “bending the knee” to avoid alienating potential Trump-supporting customers. Rubin’s remarks have once again placed her at the center of heated political discourse, with supporters praising her for speaking out and critics denouncing her as emblematic of media bias. Whether her controversial comments will have lasting consequences remains to be seen, but they have undeniably added fuel to an already polarized political climate. Popular Post Hakuna Matata Posted November 22, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2024 The end of US Democrats is very near! Finita la comedia. Quote the comedy is finished It's Italian, a bit distorted: "Finita la comedia" (no comma is needed) means that the performance is ended. Idiomatically, the expression is often used to say that something comical or strange is finished at last, the end of some stupid or awkward line of events. Popular Post pattayasan Posted November 22, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2024 Her remarks should not be controversial. We know school shootings would be far fewer without guns. We know that infant mortality would be far greater without mortality. For the GOP it's corporations before people. 2 1 2

Popular Post candide Posted November 22, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2024 It's very excessive. Republicans don't want kids to die. It's just that they don't care about the consequences of their culture war and promotion of conspiracy theories. 1 1 2

Like that steele dossier conspiracy being a fake dossier, that conspiracy theory. And that conspiracy theory about a laptop actually belonging to hunter biden when it was a russian hoax!
bendejo Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 I know the russiarussiarussia thing that DT keeps bringing up is real because he keeps bringing it up to say it was dis proven, he thinks if he says it a magical number of times it will disappear. The schmuck hasn't figured out he's actually legitimizing it. The full Mueller Report will not be revealed in DT's lifetime. 1

It really is an astonishing ability, which could save huge amounts of money in the medical world if properly harnessed, this ability of some posters on here to diagnose complex mental conditions based on a few lines of script. Remarkable, and sadly it is all going to waste! Imagine, if it could be applied to other fields of human endeavour. For example, I am rather an enthusiast for the great steam locomotives of British railways in bygone days, especially the Great Western Railway locomotives designed by Churchward and Collett. I am not so impressed by the designs of Gresley (London and North Eastern Railway) or Bullied (Southern Railway) but have now realised that those individuals obviously suffered from grave psychiatric conditions!
Keep Right Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Another liberal meltdown from a newspaper that is used as fish-wrap. Jennifer should join the rest of the left wing celebs in moving to Londonista where she will be right at home.

Because you wrote, "It's just that they don't care about the consequences of their culture war and >>>> promotion of conspiracy theories. <<<<" I guess that when you wrote, "It's just that they don't care about the consequences of their culture war and promotion of conspiracy theories." , you weren't writing about republicans promoting conspiracy theories?? You know, republicans promoting conspiracy theories such as the steele dossier was fake and the hunter biden laptop was not a russian propaganda thing? P.S. I included your entire written post, because I believe that when someone edits someone else's post, then that changes the meaning of the edited post! So, if you edit your own post, leaving out the sentence "It's just that they don't care about the consequences of their culture war and promotion of conspiracy theories." then then entire meaning of your post, that you edited, has changed!

Ok, I get it. My understanding is that the OP was implicitly referring to the nomination of conspiracy theory proponents such as JFK. Jr. That 's why I mentioned conspiracy theories. About the other points you made. I agree with you about citing full posts and not editing them. However it was not a quote so I did not edit my post, One significant difference between the MAGA conspiracy theories and the conspiracy theories you mentioned, is what happened after they have been proven wrong. Ex. Hunters laptop. After the MSM ultimately got a copy of it to check, they analysed it and acknowledged the content was likely from Hunter. And the theory disappeared. That's a sharp contrast with MAGA theories being held despite being proven wrong. Ex the Big Lie is still claimed to be true, despite the fact that all lawsuits, recounts and audits failed.
