Employees just show up, not having any work space, desk, outlets, etc. and get paid doing nothing. The day will just be one long break - who wouldn't show up for that? 1

But they're in good with the Pentagon... 1 1

Musk & Vivek will shed trillions in fat from the system and manage it for obvious benefits to the US. You don't like, too bad, you don't vote so it's not your concern. You just want see Trump fail like only a Biden and democrats all too often fail. Failure is not in Trumps MO, however failure is built into all things Biden and democrat endeavors and obviously yours too. Stick with your bud starmer, and get it good and raw. mogandave Posted Friday at 01:03 PM Posted Friday at 01:03 PM I would bet almost no full time “hourly” staff will be terminated. Overtime will be eliminated, hiring freezes, retirements incentivized, buyouts offered, contract positions eliminated, departments closed and consolidated.
stevenl Posted Friday at 02:11 PM Posted Friday at 02:11 PM I agree cuts most likely can be made. But this all guns blazing approach is not a good idea. 1

Reading NYP and watching Fox? Watch the chaos unfold when people can't get services and more trains crash and lawsuits from environmental harm causing health issues, unfixed bridges. No vaccine for the next pandemic. The list goes on. 1 1
Callmeishmael Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) ^ This! While there is no doubt that government bloat and inefficiencies could be cut, the kinds of drastic, wholesale deletions of complete government departments will lead to future health, environmental and financial disasters. The US Government is far from perfect, but it does work to keep children and working people safe and to restrain rapacious business practices. I believe that we are saving money now only to have to spend it in the future, cleaning up the mess the next 4 years will leave behind. Edited 22 hours ago by Callmeishmael

Peabody Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Elonia AND Rama lama ding dong BOTH at DOGE? I see a possible 50% cut right there. They could cut 98% of the staff at the US Embassy in BKK. Wouldn't affect us expats at all. Waiting times when I call SSA in the States 30-60 minutes. Where the fruck is the bloated staff there??

( yes I know, because I worked for vendors that sold to the gov and I know how easy it is to facilitate ) The US gov is a cesspool of corruption and anybody that claims otherwise is has either been dead for the last 100 years or living in a constant thorzine shuffle.
