Incorrect.  Her post implied that she was indifferent to whether or not the building was set on fire - it is not a crime to be indifferent to a bad thing happening.  Her charges were inflated and she should not be in jail.  Even if she had said what your echo chamber claimed she had said, it would still be impossible for a court to prove a causal link between what she said and whether that caused people to start fires, or even if those convicted of starting fires had even seen her post.  But that isn't what she said, so is irrelevant.  

 

People who set fires to buildings and/or attacked police officers in an airport, or set fire to buses in the previous riots (the Roma ones) should all be in jail.   People who posted offensive tweets, even if you didn't like them, should not be in jail.

"Third-Class Nation" is inaccurate.  More accurate is an "Orwellian Totalitarian State." 
There seems to be a massive push in Western countries to embrace totalitarian restrictions on speech, as well as dissent.  It bodes not well for the West.  It's the same thing that the West accuses all the countries they have declared to be "enemies" of engaging in, like China.  I expect it in China, I don't expect it in countries that claim to be "Liberal Democracies."  Nowadays "Liberal Democracy" equals "Totalitarianism" and even Classic Fascism.  Welcome to 1984 on the Thames.

The Democrats and Far-Left Progressives were trying to take the US down that path, but just ran into a wall emblazoned with MAGA, Trump, and the US Constitution and Bill or Rights, and POTUS Number 47.  We're not going down that path just yet.

So she shouldn't have apologised for an offensive tweet?  I don't understand you people at all.   Why wouldn't she apologise if she felt bad for offending people for what she wrote in the aftermath of 3 little girls getting slaughtered in a dance class by a Muslim attacker?   Maybe you don't care so much if 3 innocent little girls are butchered but this kind of thing has a big impact on people and they can do and say things they later regret.  So she apologised.  

 

What shouldn't have happened is going to jail for a very first offence for an offensive tweet in her first ever encounter with the law.  Had she been a more hardened criminal that knew the system even a little bit she would not have pleaded guilty and a jury would not have convicted her.

'One lot' do nothing to threaten the power dynamics in Westminster.

The 'other log' have the potential to bring down the government with enough support.

 

I'm frightened for my farmer friends who may post online.... Instead we are seeing a 'narrative' on shows such as LBC - James O'Brien...    telling farmers just 'sell a bit of your land to pay tax'...   and arguing that 'Farmers travelled to London in 1st Class'... (of course they did - non-premium time tickets: £30 regular (no seat guaranteed) - £45 First Class (food and drink included !!) - No brainer... That doesn't mean they are rich - it means they were capable of planning... 

.... But, argue against that and they are shot down by woke 'soundbites' which the government love... 

Start posting facts... and they get 'visited' by the Police...

No... while it seems paranoid to suggest it - the UK is losing its freedom of speech..  Part of that is for wholly valid reasons...   to cut out hate speech, religiously motivated speech and to cut out the spread of false naratives - but that last one is a major issue -  who decides what a false narative is ?

....think Covid Vaccines / Global Warming etc - Facebook shuts down posts from people I know are posting facts... but the facts they have do not fit the government agreed narative...

There has been a lot of whining about foreigners in the UK lately, a lot of hate directed towards them.

I prefer to be polite to them.

 

I believe people should be able to go wherever they want in the world. I chose to live in Thailand, my life, my choice. If people want to go to live in cold and miserable England, then good luck to them.

No idea, but as long ago as 2012, MPs wanted to make it illegal to call someone fat....

In any case, even if you write in Thailand that someone is fat, I think it highly unlikely that a case of defamation would be brought against you because - quite simply - being called fat when you ARE fat is not seen as an insult in Thailand. Think how many fat people are given the nickname 'moo' (pig).

 

Unfortunately, in the UK (and no doubt other countries), the culture of that country means that being told the truth is deemed to be an insult..

 

Eg - If I call Starmer a two-faced, vile d*ckhead, I might suffer some police action in the UK against me, because some don't like to acknowledge the truth.....

There should be a lot of hate about illegal immigrants costing 8 million a day putting a great strain on health services, housing and infrastructure. UK cannot keep on taking in up to a million a year, it's sustainable and for the past 20 years voters have said they wanted less immigration, and it was always promised!

There is a recent study which I will link to tomorrow that shows it is now quicker to walk between certain landmarks in London than it is to use "Public" transport!
