Reported just now that number of signatures approaching 2 million.

  • Of course its not going to happen but if there were an election Labour would be out on its ear double quick.   There are probably a lot of poor people and benefit scroungers who thought voti

Over 2 million now; this could become a very serious issue for the Labour government, and one that they might not be able to ignore. Over 2 million already and the petition has a deadline of May 2025.

Look at this clown.  Announcing something that is already illegal to now be illegal.  If he really wanted women and girls to be safe then perhaps he could try and "smash the gangs" and stop the fighting aged men arriving illegally on small boats, deport every single one that has arrived on small boats rather than put them up in hotels and deport every single one of the rape gang perpetrators so they never get to rape an English girl again.

Where do you want me to start. Sorry fella.

OK,  England has a flicked government, crap border control, too many illegal fighting age Muslims, low GDP.

I could go on.

Australia is heading in the same direction.

So yes whilst I shake my head and laugh on the outside I feel deep dispar for the Kingdom.

Too bad for the malcontents. Tossing out a government because a small vocal minority are unhappy is not how the parliamentary system works in the UK. The people voted and must live with their  poor  choice until the government resigns or  calls an election.

Maybe people will think  before voting next time. It is not as if the candidates who would run in a new election would be any better than the last election. Conservatives have too much deadwood to do any better.

The problem was most people didn't get off their ass to vote

What was the point? Whoever you vote for the Government always gets in, and they don't represent you.

One of the broad pejorative generalizations that do much of what you post relies upon.

Non of which has happened.

And you seem to have missed the rightwing press’ relentless campaign of attacking the Labour Government

You seem to have missed that the "rightwing press" exists because an awful lot of people buy it. They buy it because they agree with what it prints.

🤔

I've put a confused emoji on to save you the trouble, poor fellow, you do seem to be so often confused by very simple points!

Well that and the pictures, cartoons and gossip.

Most everyone pays taxes, even gypsies. That's the beauty of taxes like the VAT. Very hard to escape that. However, the real issue is whether or not the population of the UK pays enough in  all taxes to cover the services and benefits that they receive. The answer is no, they do not. Most UK residents are carried by a small minority of hardworking tax payers.

The legal population of the UK is 68.35 million of which only  37.4 million pay income taxes and most other taxes. Older people, children, and the disabled can avoid much of the tax burden.

It is the  biggest self delusion to hear and read when loudmouths berate public officials with comments like "I pay for your salary".

The 10% of income taxpayers with the largest incomes contribute over 60% of income tax receipts.

The bottom 50% of income earners only contribute 9% of income tax receipts.

Even if the low information rightwingers are baying for it.

Labour have shown themselves totally unfit for purpose.

Like a bunch of spiteful sixth form socialists.

If Labour MP's had any morals they'd have a vote of no confidence in Starmer. But they don't, because they are Labour MP's.

Yes, politics is tribal.  All the parties are the same.

Unless there is proportional representation (which there should be), I don't see where Labour's opposition is going to come from.  I'd wager 99.99% of those who signed the 'silly' petition are Reform / Conservative voters or bots.    But unless they form some kind of alliance I can't see them beating Labour in 2028/9, which is when the next election will be held.

I think an alliance is inevitable. Labour must be removed by any means necessary. We've seen left wing parties in Europe teaming up to stop right wing parties gaining power and I think the same will happen here in reverse.

In the meantime I have signed the petition. Labour have simply told too many lies and done too many things not mentioned in the manifesto to have any mandate to govern. They are destroying the country at breakneck speed.

I can't see the  Tories going in to an alliance with Farage and Reform.  It would make sense, but I think the Tories want unadulterated power.  There's no way the Lib Dems and Greens would join an alliance with the Right!

Didn't the Lib/Dems form a coalition Government with the Conservative a few years back ?

The Tories need to get rid of Badenoch as leader within the next few years as she is just another globalist.   Huge mistake not going for Jenrick whose policies were aligned with Reform and would have worked with them.   With Badenoch as leader (who will not work with Reform) it will be a repeat of this year with several right leaning parties all vying for votes against each other and we know exactly how that will work out.  Even with a bankrupt country and IMF bailouts Labour would still win by default due to the nature of the voting system.

Some interesting rumours swirling around on the internet that one Jeremy Clarkson has been arrested, or at the very least interviewed by the Police, over his involvement with the farmers protest.

Of course it is the internet, and they really wouldn't be that daft would they?

UK Plod are capable of anything at the moment; they have recorded a non crime hate incident against a 9 year old who called another school kid a retard. And another against 2 secondary school girls for saying that another pupil ‘smelled like fish’ ….. you couldn’t make it up.

They did indeed. A shameful mistake that cost them dearly.  Won't be repeated!

I think it's about 40% of London's population that migrated there from outside the UK.

Update:  For all those "millions" who signed the petition, it is being debated right now in Parliament.

Maybe there will be an election...🙄😀
