Breaking down the 90-day report rule
If we’re getting into specifics - then yes, there are a few caveats. For example, first report of each visa is typically done in person (even if you previously submitted your earlier report in person). I’ve updated the original post to include this, thanks for pointing it out! Regarding your second point: it’s highly recommended to make sure your TM30 check-in date matches the date on your most recent entry stamp to avoid any potential issues. Also not sure why the link isn't working - I've checked with multiple people and it seems to be working fine -

Report Taiwanese Traveler Caught with $210,000 in Gold at Hanoi Airport
Picture courtesy of VN Express A traveler from Taiwan was apprehended at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport with a suspiciously heavy carry-on. Customs officials became wary when they noticed unusual signs and decided to inspect the passenger's black suitcase, which contained no checked baggage. Inside the suitcase, officials discovered 12 gold bars cleverly concealed within four camera lenses. The gold bars weighed a total of nearly two kilograms and have an estimated market value of over VND5.5 billion (US$210,000). The authorities have seized the gold and handed the suspect over to Hanoi police for a detailed investigation. Adapted by ASEAN Now from VN Express 2025-06-27 -

British Lump of Lard Hauled Off Thai Lion Air Flight
I used to get one just about every flight until I hit some magic age. I wasn't flying much between 60-65, so I don't know what that magic age was. Just that I'm too old now. -

Should I return to the UK - difficult decision!
There's a bus service in our area.... It runs up to 11pm... Busses every hour up to about 5pm. They run up to about 8pm I think. We've never used it... would if we had to, but its just not convenient vs getting in the car and parking in the local town... Conversely, in the cities - yes - public transport is convenient - trains are getting better... But they you have to pay a fortune to pay for parking at the train station !! But, the night busses in London are full of drunks dripping their Burger-king on your or placing their greasy mitts on your clothes as they steady their drunken heads while walking up the aisle.
