I am surprised that there aren't more accidents with delivery bikes and Grab bikes.

The riders are always looking at their phones whilst looking for their destination.

Well they do at least seem to mostly have phone holders on the handlebars and hence have 2 hands for controlling the bikes.

The motorcycle’s rider, identified as 18-year-old Ms. Phattharaporn, suffered a head laceration, a dislocated right elbow, and abrasions across her body. Rescue personnel administered first aid before transporting her to Bang Lamung Hospital for further treatment.

According to the injured rider, she was driving back to her residence while using her phone when she lost control of her vehicle,

It must have been a very important phone call. Enjoy the hospital visit

Watched a guy yesterday on a Big Bike with a smartphone between his ear and his should driving down the road, NUTS! But the worst I've ever seen was a man with no helmet and holding a small brown bottle of something and a cigarette in his left hand, in the other he was working the throttle while holding his smartphone. I just assume all Thai's have a death wish, I just don't want to be their executioner.

No sympathy.

If my phone rings while I am driving, I try to pull over to the side of the road to answer the call.   If I cannot, I shall call back.

Simple.

Wow. You personification of perfection, just like every other AN poster, no doubt!

Some off topic comments about the gender of the person in the picture have been removed. The picture was taken at the scene and the details reported correctly. This is the news section about a motorcycle crash, not for troll comments on how someone chooses to dress or look.

I go a step further than the other poster, I ignore all calls, and use the fact that I am driving (or not) as an excuse 😉

Of course, you do.

It is sick to watch people on their bikes with a phone in their hand! What is wrong with their brains!!! Do they actually have one!!?? If so, it certainly does not function well....

ANF Driving Instructors have long warned Thais not to use phones while driving. Here we have the inevitable results of ignoring that advice. Lesson learned.

Lesson learned?  Highly unlikely!

Serves her right for letting the bike use her phone.

Motorcycles are not the brightest lot, until they catch on fire of course.
