https://www.thinkglobalhealth.org/article/us-egg-prices-see-largest-jump-1980-bird-flu-outbreaks-continue

On Wednesday, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shared its latest update on consumer prices, showing that the average cost of a dozen large grade A eggs increased nearly $1 in a single month—to $5.89. February's price jump is the largest since 1980–even after adjusting for inflation and beats the record set by January's price data.

This historic run of egg-price surge stems from H5N1 avian influenza—or bird flu—hitting poultry producers hard this winter. The increase came after a new version of the virus emerged in wild migratory birds in September 2024 and then jumped to domesticated fowl.

I posted a few times in the last month that culling 100mn chickens tends to have an effect on the market price.

Suggest watching the Inside Russia youtube channel.

There exiled Russian Konstantin (expert in economics and energy industry) has been predicting Russia's economic melt down for years now.

Well that might be a concern in an elected democracy but in the lands of dictators they have so much sweeping powers it wont matter one bit, Putin can take every Russian to the grave with him, the apparatus has so much control and wields so much fear who can will move to Thailand.

And yet, the whole of Europe from west to east are living in fear of being attacked by this gas station with Chinese made shovels and imported Asian soldiers 😂

That is their fault for maintaining their military.

No, you're wrong about both. Russian soft power is a joke and they don't produce anything significant apart from raw materials.

Does anybody on this forum have anything in their house that says Made in Russia? Other than maybe vodka, a bag of kasha, or some nesting dolls? I'm not talking about the Russian girl you bought last night at Mixx either

The Russian government is now offering a financial reward to 16 year old girls to get pregnant.

Talk about being desperate.

Or stabby/shooty south American cartel gang members.

Russia's economy is now dependent on perpetual war... otherwise it will collapse miserably. The Kremlin knows that it can't afford to win the war or lose it, as the economic implications are too negative regardless of what happens... both end games are a problem.

They are pouring money into the war economy, which is shot in the sky and exploded at the ground in Ukraine. This model is called by pro-Russians as a booming economy.
