There is now (or will be) a 3 Republican Senate majority. There are now also 3 Republican senators who voted for Trump's impeachment conviction.

Whoda thunk?

trump has selected Kash Patel as future FBI Director. If Congress agrees he will be targeting trump's so called "political enemies", including those in the media who oppose him. One wonders how it will float with Free Speech, does it mean a step closer to an authoritarian government?

I think as long as they are on board with the new agenda they won't suffer directly from it. There's simply too much to do and senators too key to pick battles over wars. The targeting will be at DOJ and security state apparatchiks, FDA.

Trump will achieve his due payback via the successes of the administration's next four years and subsequent elevation of Vance into the presidency. His payback will be unqualified, success as legacy. The ultimate FU.

The Swamp, Blob and Left will do their best to sabotage the effort or in other words.. continue to sabotage the nation.

I think the real agenda will be whatever Musk and the rest of the money and foreign influencers have determined.

Trump will be the figurehead for the time being, unlikely he will make it through 4 years due to one cause or another.

Interesting times.

Trump has a huge ego. He won't ask Musk for advice - at least most of the time.

And Trump likes to shoot from the hip.

I am sure he will f@# up many times.

Luckily, I am not an American and I can watch this soap opera from far away.

Possibly, but a $44 billion plus investment in to Trump's "success" carries a lot of weight and no doubt huge payback for the assist!

Yea, economic growth that dwarfed what he oversaw as 45, plus a 64 year record of months with UE under 4%...oh, and GDP growth 3 times higher than other G7 nations since 2020...such sabotage!

The guy so incompetent he failed 5 times in a business where people line up to hand you their money (casinos) is not going to improve on the Biden Economic Boom, nor is there anything he can do for the folks the modern tech economy left behind due to lack of marketable skills and talents.

If you failed to boost your wealth during Biden's 4 years, there is something wrong or unnecessary with what you bring to the economy. That is simply a fact, and the fault lies within, not with Biden or Dems. It isn't going to get any easier under 47 or with the continued introduction of AI.

Those who can, do; those who can't, voted for 47.

This is an absolute laugh. Government spending almost entirely drove US GDP. There was a recent mishtalk article on it. Trump was elected precisely bc of the crap economy.

Bear also in mind that Harris voters very well may not be pleased as well but the overarching subservience to the party, DEI and free shi* drove their votes along with *orange man bad* and Trump derangement syndrome

Those that can? Well, anyone voting for Harris obviously cannot and needs government programs. These social program dependant people voted for Harris for exactly that reason. The Trump supporters are flailing in a sea of inflation, regulation and political chaos.

Funny, like all true believers you seem so certain of your opinions. This is just more delusional thinking. Carry on. No one is the least bit moved by the disinformation

Your opinions offer nothing. As you are not American please refrain from cluttering the thread with your thoroughly unqualified view of American politics.

The President-elect clearly does not like the very first thing Madison and Jefferson put into the US Constitution, which just happens to be called the First Amendment.

He does not like Freedom of Speech, absolutely does not like Freedom of the Press, and neither does he like the Right to Peaceful Assembly nor Freedom of Religion.

He posted and spoke of ABC and CBS having their licenses to broadcast revoked, he said he does not want journalists to be free from revealing sources. He has made threats against journalists and TV Talking Heads who criticized him. You might also recall that he ordered stormtroopers to use violence and gas to break up a 100% peaceful protest in Lafayette Park, just so he could go hold a Christian Bible upside down in front of a Christian church as a photo op. Just in that act alone he showed his disdain for parts of the First Amendment (Peaceful Assembly and Religious Freedom). Only fools would think that performance art had any meaning to him other than pandering to the Christian Nationalists, with a shout out to fascists.

His cult will come in and diss this, perhaps fabricating some 'alternative facts' or maybe try to play the whataboutism game, but as usual, they will be dead wrong and they're heads full of fever swamp vapors, altering whatever rational judgement they might ever have had, if indeed any of them ever did or ever understood the ideals upon which the United States was based.

I forgive you for this comment.

Only if he can convince all the states that the constitution should be abandoned.

If trump has decided upon an authoritarian path, don't think he  and his enablers will give a @*^# about the Constitution.

The US is very large and Trumps acolytes small in number. That is why he would need the military and the military will arrest him if he tried to get them to contravene the constitution.

Do you Trump haters ever think about what you say?

Lefties only have themselves to blame. Trump has all this power now only because your ideology has failed so spectacularly

No, it doesn't mean that at all.

Next question please

You make a number of assumptions with trump who is on his way to appoint people whose first loyalty is to him, not the constitution. One only has to read history to recognise what trump is trying to do. Best to wait and see a few years to see what progress he's making with the undermining of us institutions. which he has sworn to do.

You are free to whine after Trump's term is finished. In the meantime please refrain from ridiculously wild speculation. Contrary to your belief there are many constitutional absolutists left of center.

There will be many lawsuits waged against Trump's administration. None will be over the constitution.

To correct you - only MAGA enablers to blame
