Possibly, but a $44 billion plus investment in to Trump's "success" carries a lot of weight and no doubt huge payback for the assist!

Who knows how the richest man on earth thinks?

Let's not forget, if that 44 billion USD investment would go bankrupt, he would still be the richest man on earth. He would not feel any difference in his life.

So how does he think? What does he want? I have no idea, and I am pretty sure most of us have no idea. Because our world is so far away from his world that we have few things in common.

trump has selected Kash Patel as future FBI Director. If Congress agrees he will be targeting trump's so called "political enemies", including those in the media who oppose him. One wonders how it will float with Free Speech, does it mean a step closer to an authoritarian government?

Free speech?  Ivermectin. Ivermectin. Ivermectin. Ivermectin. Ivermectin. It's only recently that any mention of this was banned on this forum. Free speech. Wow!

Disagree. Centre left is still there. The Democrat's aren't. Trump is.

Freedom of speech is just that. Freedom to speak. Censorship takes away that freedom. Only the "narrative" was allowed. Any challenge to the "narrative" wasn't. You simply parrot the "narrative" pushed by governments, the CDC, the WHO and the legacy media. I can't wait for a full investigation where people like yourself will have to accept the fact you and the majority of people were hoodwinked.

An extremist right winger who wants to help the middle class and the working class a huge demographic of the population abandoned by the Biden/Harris administration. "Extremist right winger. Sure. Even the right wing establishment in the GOP didn't want Trump. The fascist/Nazi rhetoric is very boring indeed.

IMO the terrible partisan gulf driven by trump blocked a number of initiatives for Biden Admin

Which was a good thing. Too bad more of them couldn't be blocked, e.g., the Orwellian-named Inflation Reduction Act. Now the voters have agreed that they've had enough of Biden's "initiatives," and he'lll be making no more of them.

He wants power. And manipulating Trump is the easiest way to get it. With Trump being so easily manipulated by simple praise, he'll be essentially running the government. Why do you think Musk is essentially attached to trump's hip these days? It's because if he is absent, some other person will be whispering in trump's ear and he'll lose his power.

Meanwhile those of us in the rest of the world look on in quiet amusement.

I almost feel sorry for the next President

For me it seems many Americans don't realize anymore how crazy Trump is compared to normal people.

Somehow, I would be surprised if this is getting better anytime soon.

trump will further assist the wealthy with a proposed extension of tax relief costing $4 trillion; remember the previous trump tax relief has yet to be paid off will a great deal of the monies used by corporates for share buy back.. And...limits to food stamps, including for women and children, and other safety net programs together with other programs negatively impacting the less well off.. MAGA!

YAWN! Same leftist worms eye fearmongering we heard last time before Trump took office and all during his term. Voters have compared him to Biden already.

snipped for brevity. Prior critique of trump tax cuts for the wealthy were proven correct. US tax payers are currently paying approx $850 billion p.a. in interest with national debt current at approx $33 trillion. trump failed to gat anywhere near to fulfilling his prior fiscal promises with debt actually massively increased, which were ludicrous in the first place, yet MAGA clapped and cheered, they haven't learnt.

You make a number of assumptions with trump who is on his way to appoint people whose first loyalty is to him, not the constitution. One only has to read history to recognise what trump is trying to do. Best to wait and see a few years to see what progress he's making with the undermining of us institutions. which he has sworn to do.

He was elected to destroy Washington as it is, so yes, it'll be interesting how he gets on with that task. I can think of a few Washington government establishments that need a complete overhaul, or being abolished.

BTW, I doubt the POTUS decides who will be an officer in the US military, so he can't put cronies in charge, and in any event the troops do not have to obey an illegal order. I do not expect a US version of the Burmese military to occur except in the fevered imaginings of Trump haters.

If he was a so called "normal" person he would not have been elected the first or the second time.

BTW, there is no real "normal" when it comes to people. All 8 billion of us are different.

People confuse being in a flock with being "normal".

Right wingers are IMO in favour of wars and such like unpleasantness, but Trump has proven he does not share the blood lust. Biden was more of a right winger on violence than Trump.

Sort of true. Fact is there are extremes though. Another thing is it's not on a plane. It's more circular. Extreme left and extreme right don't move further apart rather the more extreme they get they move closer together in a convergence.

Collins calls draft Roe opinion ‘completely inconsistent’ with what Gorsuch and Kavanaugh said during hearings and meetings

Updated 5:57 PM EDT, Tue May 3, 2022

“If this leaked draft opinion is the final decision and this reporting is accurate, it would be completely inconsistent with what Justice Gorsuch and Justice Kavanaugh said in their hearings and in our meetings in my office,” Collins said in a statement. “Obviously, we won’t know each Justice’s decision and reasoning until the Supreme Court officially announces its opinion in this case.”

Asked if she was misled by Kavanaugh, Collins told CNN, “My statement speaks for itself.”

“We talked about whether he considered Roe to be settled law. He said that he agreed with what Justice Roberts said at his nomination hearing in which he said it was settled law,” Collins said at the time after meeting with Kavanaugh.

NB GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski (AK) said much the same elsewhere.

Congress can vest its powers to the President for appt of military officers.. Given trump political sycophants it's not impossible.

I see you up to date with MAGA speak e.g. "trump haters"
