Stray Dogs Attack Tourists Daily on Koh Muk
Over here in Pattaya, we also have the "Soi Dog Mafia" to deal with. I carry a metal rod, the kind that cops use, to fend off those mafia dogs. I have no problems killing or injuring one or two or three of those dogs...they will learn quickly who the alpha dog is. There is an easy solution to this problem....poison them and thin the herd. -

Is there not a risk of being bumped off a flight without a seat reservation, though, if it is over-booked (which you may only find out about at check-in)? Or are Emirates flights never over-booked? -

One of the most epic crash videos I've seen so far
On TV every night are programs of road accidents - normally from dashcam. THis is a new phenomena from countries where dashcams are common...of course there are some from Thailand but also the US, Russia, China and Europe, the number of videos are NOT representative of "typical" driving in any of these countries. What does seem typical is the people on these threads seem totally incapable of watching any video critically - it is an acquired skill, but judging form this thread it is a skill that none of the posters have acquired, and the implications they make and conclusions they draw are simply risible. -

DTV visa and Thai baht bank account?
You can't really compare that, updating their internal rules was just a formality in the case of the LTR visa (and also the SMART visa previously), as they are equivalent to a non-immigrant visa insofar as the residency status they provide is concerned. The DTV is not equivalent to a non-immigrant visa. Banks could still choose to accommodate DTV holders, same as some banks choose to accommodate Elite visa holders, but there's no pressure on them to do so.
