International Trafficking Gang Arrested for Exploiting African Women in Bangkok
Been to the Nana area recently after quite a long time. Saw many freelancers. Yeah, I have noticed quite a high number of African women in various locations there, at least some of whom seem to be on the game. Saw a few Middle Eastern ones at/near Gulliver's. Of course, needless to mention there were many local freelancer lasses too 🙂 Failed to see Russian/Central Asian Republics ones though that evening. But, I think they still mainly hang out at/near the Grace Hotel. I mean, that was the case back in the pre-Covid years. I haven't been to the Grace for several years. Anyway, all this was not even at a late time. I was in the area around 8-10 PM. So, I guess the freelance stuff is still going strong. -

Thailand's EV Industry Faces Challenges Amid Subsidy Concerns - video
People do show quite a bit of ignorance when it comes to EVs. With the anti EV propaganda, it's not a surprise. AN is a fine example, as some folks simply being a wee bit ignorant, and understandable, to downright stupid, and or, anti EVs, with no knowledge or at least good research of the facts. EV owners on AN, point out the pros & cons. If one does the research, and thinks for themselves, listen to owners of, then a decision to buy or pass, should be easy. Much of it, is country dependent also. Personally, I would stick with the major producers, in TH, with a bit of track record, and dealer network; MG (bias of course) BYD GWM Your post alone shows some of the ignorance, especially about BEVs. Charging & fires, seriously, as if not debunked enough on AN for TH. Yet, like yourself, repeat what you read & hear, based on no facts. I guess you'll keep buying overpriced, underperforming vehicles -

90 day report in Bangkok - how bad is it now?
there is no way to make appointments. all agencies are in contact with the 'place which is arranging online appointments'. if you follow the appointment website you can see that. here is my story about this: i created 4 emails to get an appointment. i started to follow the appointment system.. i check the website every 15 mins. (yes im serious) website allows you to get an appointment sometimes the month we are in and sometimes the month we are in and the next month. again please keep in mind that im checking the website every 15 min. including night time. so in my case i was trying to catch any day in september. i started to follow the website from 3rd week of july. and again keep in moind every 15 mins. no joke interestingly july and august were already full. now july.. yes i understand but when the august opened for the first time it was already almost full and there were only 5 or 6 days left. right after they opened august (5 or 6 days left) after 1 hour it was only 2 days left. and after 1.30 hrs.. non. 2 days later they opened august again and it was only 2 days but like only 10.30 and 11.00 and yep.. 10 min all gone. suddenly 1 day opened in september.. i think it was friday and 10:00 5 min later its gone. september ended... 1 week in august and its all full. suddenly 2nd week august opened again and it had 3 or 5 days. i dont remember the hours now but i believe it was like 4-5 free slot. suddenly in 2nd week september opened.. and LOL only 2 days free and same hours.. 11:00. now again let me remind you that i was following the schedule every day within 15 mins. so.. its a really surprising thing that september first time appear and only 2 days free.. and only 1 or 2 hours.. thats not possible. i used all my 4 emails to book them and i did. so booking is not about your passport number but the email. september opened again in 3rd week for only 1 day and 2 hrs. gone in 20min i went to immigration. i saw some teachers waiting with me at the online queue.. and all of the teacher groups had someone with them. so i approached one of them and i asked if she is an agency (i can speak fluent thai and esan so there is no misunderstanding.) and she said she works at the school and its her duty to help them. First i believed them.. but then few things started to happen. the lady i talked to.. saw another man who was doing exactly the same thing.. working at the school and his duty to help teachers with the visa.. started to talk each other and it was so obvious they know each other. then another guy.. and another.. so it came to a point that there is no way all of them can know each other. its so clear that they are from a company. then i talked to a teacher sitting next to me from that teacher group and i told him hes llucky that he has someone helping from the school.. ( iwas checking the info tbh) then he said ohh i dont know all of them are using different agencies... well it is all clear how the system works. so unless you are VERY VERY lucky you have no chance to get an appointment. thanks to agencies. -

Two Arrested for Luring Tribal Girls into Bangkok Sex Trade
Since you mention stupidity, I guess you realize that Human Trafficking is a legal term, and only the Law establish when the crime of human trafficking is committed. Likewise you fully understand that only the Law states when there is consent, and when, on the other end, a person is "coerced" into an activity "without his/her consent". Don't you? Yes, you do. You're smart and you know it all. The Thai Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act is very clear with regards to what Trafficking in Human beings means (Microsoft Word - Trafficking_in_Persons_Act_B.E.2551) Chapter I, section 6, paragraph 2 clearly states: "procuring, buying, selling, vending, bringing from or sending to, detaining or confining, harboring, or receiving a child; is guilty of trafficking in persons. ". What is a child? Section 4 gives a clear answer: "“Child” means any person under eighteen years of age.". So yes, from the Thai Law point of view, this was 100% "Human Trafficking". You think they are not trafficked. But instead they are. The issue is that you do not understand that there is no consent. For a very simple reason: a minor, in Thailand, similarly to what happens in the USA, Australia, the UK, France, Germany, etc., is not 'sui juris'. Minors have not the full legal capacity to act on their own behalf and are under the authority of another person (usually the parents). A minor in Thailand refers to any person under the age of 20, unless they are married. A minor is restricted from doing juristic acts – for example, signing contracts. When minors wish to do a juristic act, they have to obtain the consent from their legal representative, usually the parents and otherwise the act is voidable. The exceptions are acts by which a minor merely acquires a right or is freed from a duty, acts that are strictly personal, and acts that are suitable to the person's condition in life and are required for their reasonable needs. A minor cannot 'consent' to become a prostitute. A minor can only be 'coerced', from a legal point of view, to become a prostitute. I think you are now in a better position to understand what stupidity is. Exactly: it is the definition of human trafficking.
