Anyone know of a shop/bakery, in Patong, that has fresh crusty baguettes and is open, say from 8am or earlier?

Just love a good baguette and cheese with a morning coffee.

OP wants his baguette before 8am. Here is a tip. I buy the half-size baguettes from BigC, freezed them in the fridge. The night before, take out from the fridge and they are fresh as new the next morning.

My technique is slightly different: baguette stored in the freezer, 30 seconds in the microwave and 5 minutes in the oven at 150 degrees, perfect as if freshly baked!

In the freezer I always keep a good supply of baguettes, I am in Nai Harn and for me the best are those from Chez Nous, near the lagoon.

Thanks everybody for your help

I thought Big C was still opening at 10 or 11am so I will try at 9am

I think i can exist till then for the pleasure of a fresh baked baguette.

Going to try freezing the half baguettes, ideal with garlic butter smeared on them.

Those baguettes at Chez Nous are worth the drive down from Patong.

We regularly go down and enjoy an afternoon meal, delightful staff.

Got caught in the traffic for the King's Regatta at Kata last night on our way down. Took an hour to get through but well worth the wait as we went to Le Celtique and we again shared a deep fried, breaded Goat cheese as an entree and that is an absolute delight. Our main meals were just as excellent.

We are so spoilt with great food and restaurants on Phuket with some really nice staff.

I recommend Fafa at 122 Nanai. I moved from Phuket a few years ago, but as far as I know he is making his baguettes and they are tasty. Give him a try.

Just had a look on Google and food looks delicious.

Definitely try it in the next few days.

Thank you

Well change it back before hitting submit, or turn spell checker off.

Or use common sense and comprehend the post as it was intended.

Does anyone know if Fast Eddie is still baking sourdough in the Rawai area? Thai chap from San Francisco, he used to supply many of the restaurants in the area with baguettes. We called him Fast Eddie because he was always training for triathlons when not baking bread. You'd see him all over the island on either his moto with a big sack of baguettes or training (running, bicycling).
