Israel had an agreement with Syria. They want to renegade on that agreement, Assad having fled is just an excuse.

That has got to be the most illogical reasoning possible.  Who was the agreement signed with?

I assume all those asylum seekers in UK can now return home?

Some of them might though from what I have read on the BBC News

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5y795q52x5o

the current asylum claims are on hold.

There is also the possibility that new Syrian asylum seekers from Assad's regime may also want to stay in the UK as Syria may not be safe for them.

You dont need to be a soothsayer to realise that the new Syrian regime isn't going to follow the old Assad Syrian regime's rules and agreements .

They toppled him for a reason, they didn't topple him so they can do the same as he did

And now more settlements in the area. Another land grab by Israel.

Nope, same land. Wrong again. This is also not about Israel although I know you want it to be.

The 'demographic development' plan to increase settler numbers only applies to the area of the Golan Heights that Israel seized during the Six Day War in 1967 and later annexed in 1981 and not to territory taken since al-Assad's ouster.

I don't want it to be about Israel, but unfortunately Israel is making it about Israel.

No, your obsession on anything anti Israel is, the topic is: Syrian Rebels Take Damascus As Assad Flees Amid Global Concerns

The Agreement on Disengagement between Israel and Syria was between military forces, not civilian governments.  It was signed in Geneva by an Israeli major general and a Syrian general and was witnessed by a Fimnish general serving with a U.N.  peacekeeping force.  The final paragraph of the agreement states:  "This Agreement is not a Peace Agreement. It is a step towards a just and durable peace on the basis of Security Council resolution 338 dated 22 October 1973."

When the Assad regime fell, the Syrian Army deserted the positions it had held for the past 50 years under the terms of the agreement.  The IDF moved in to prevent these positions from falling to Islamist or other hostile forces.  Some minority groups, such as the Druze and Christians, may feel they have more to lose under Islamist control than Israeli control.  If past history is any guide, the Islamists  have little tolerance for minority religions and crack down hard on them.

Moreover, some groups within the Syrian rebels want to wage war against Israel.

Footage shows Syrian rebels in Damascus vowing: ‘From here to Jerusalem. We’re coming for Jerusalem. Patience, people of Gaza’

Footage from a mosque in Damascus aired by Hebrew media shows Syrian rebels vowing to march on Jerusalem, a day after a stunning opposition advance took over the capital, ending the Assad family’s five decades of iron rule.

It's not surprising  under these circumstances Israel's leaders would choose to move the IDF into the Syrian side of the border area between the two countries  while choaos reigns.
