Well said.

Here's a response from the experts.

FDD Expert Response
“Israel is clearly not committing the crime of genocide, as defined by the 1948 genocide treaty. So now, both Ireland and Amnesty are seeking to create a new, bogus definition of genocide in order to find Israel guilty of it. In doing so, Ireland and Amnesty are proving that they are motivated by hatred of the Jewish state rather than by allegiance to the rule of law. They are also making a mockery of international law, the ICJ, the genocide treaty, and the victims of actual genocides.” — Orde Kittrie, Senior Fellow

In the mean time, more and more countries and organisations are speaking out against the Israeli atrocities.

Are they trying to make a mockery of international laws the same as Ireland, the subject of this topic? Perhaps you should read the latest expose on the fake death figures promoted by Hamas in todays other topic. Oh no, you won't do that as it disagrees with Hamas.

Another fine example @stevenl of when you have nothing to add to the topic just deflect and return to your characteristic Israel hate with unsubstantiated off topic inflammatory claims of atrocities by Israel.

If I were an Irish Jew, I'd be getting nervous now.  Changing laws to make it easier to prosecute Jews is how the Holocaust started in Germany when the Nazis took power in 1933.  One of the first steps the Nazis took was to change laws to the detriment of Jews. This helped "normalize" the persecution of Jews.

,

A very small number of Jews live  in Ireland, which makes their situation all the more perilous.  An estimated 2,500 to 2,600 Jews reside in the Republic of Ireland, but less tan 800 are Irish citizens, according Wikipedia.   The others are employees of multinational companies, digital nomads, exchange students and spouses of Irish citizens.   As the Irish Republic has 5.35 million residents, only 0.05% are Jewish      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Ireland

The Israeli government  has reacted strongly to its Irish counterpart's constant siding with those who seek to destroy Israel.

In response to the antisemitic policies of the Irish government, Israel is closing its embassy in Dublin.

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar announced the closure of the country’s embassy in Ireland on Sunday, accusing Ireland of “extreme anti-Israel policies.”

“The actions and antisemitic rhetoric used by Ireland against Israel are rooted in the delegitimization and demonization of the Jewish state, along with double standards. Ireland has crossed every red line in its relations with Israel,” Sa’ar said, according to a foreign ministry statement.

Meanwhile, there have been attacks on individual Jews,  The young man in the story below was an exchange student from the U.S. who was weaing a Star of David pendant.

Jewish student attacked in Dublin nightclub in suspected hate crime amid fears of rising anti-Semitism

Victim (23) says he was asked ‘are you Jewish?’ before being assaulted by three men

A Jewish student suffered a concussion after he was attacked by three men in a Dublin nightclub in a suspected anti-Semitic assault.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jews with Irish passports began to decide Israel would be a better place for them to live.

Exactly its within its right.

"Ireland's antisemitic actions and rhetoric against Israel are based on delegitimization and demonization of the Jewish state and on double standards," he continued. "Ireland crossed all the red lines to speak to Israel. Israel will invest its resources in promoting bilateral relations with the countries of the world according to priorities that are also derived from the attitude of the various countries towards it."

I note you keep making a reference to well done Ireland. Strange as I you can see Hamas are also very pleased. After all, attempting to change the legal definition on a charge when its midway through a trial is every terrorists dream. They forgot its the ICJ that defines an already defined charge, not at hoc countries that want decide to join. But I suggest you read the OP its all been covered already.

when will you wake up to the sentiments on which the Irish position is based - the criminality of the deliberate killing of civilians in war  Hamas fits that definition for sure. Why should Isreal get a free pass? Isreal military bombs the jejasus out of women and children. ( conservative estimates put the numbers killed, in Gaza,, by the Isreali military in the past 12 months at more than 6,000 women and 11,000 children). if that does not float your boat, the concept of bombing a civilian population into eternity, (a significant % of whom do not support Hamas) in order to get revenge on the Hamas army of, what 15,000 - 20,000 should do so. It strikes me as inhumane. then again the popular terms for Arabs used by Isreal are  ''dogs and subhumans. for transparency I'm Irish born and proud of what my country stands up for - the dispossessed.

What aren't you standing up for the 100's of people being held hostage for over  year now ?

They include Woman and Children .

Why arent Ireland demanding the hostages be released ?

Why are Ireland standing shoulder to shoulder with the hostage takers ? Why are Ireland standing together with people who use Woman and Children as Human shields and who take Woman and Children hostages ?

Why does Ireland want Israel prosecuted for trying to free the hostages ?

What one in Gaza? Can you provide a link to this Genocide in Gaza going on for the last 10 years?

If you want the answer to that you can simply ask any human rights organization!

😂😂😂😂 riiiiiiiiiiight. You got me there, Sherlock! If you don't understand that starving a population with heavy sanctions to the point where it's a humanitarian crisis is a form of genocide then I can't help you!

Israel hate? Not at all, just hate some Israeli actions. A pity many can't see the difference.

Hamas numbers unreliable? Of course they are, just as the IDF numbers are unreliable.

Yes Israel hate, your numerous posts evidencing it & more evidence of your Hamas apologist rhetoric on the numbers, its not about Hamas being unreliable, its about Hamas deliberately manipulating the numbers. Lying in other words. There is NO moral equivalence between Idf and Hamas in credibility or actions.

Why don't you go to the topic so we can discuss? Of course I doubt you will because it goes against the Hamas narrative and lies. Providing clear evidence of how they manipulate the numbers. Not pretty for Hamas apologists.

Israel gives their numbers in good faith , Hamas just make the numbers up and exaggerate the numbers .

What Israeli actions do you like ?

Your comment reminds of two lines from the 1960's protest song For What It's Worth by Buffalo Springfield:

"There's battle lines being drawn

And nobody's right if everybody's wrong."

What's necessary is to decide which side has the more reliable figures.  I find it hard to believe anyone would put much faith in anything  Hamas, a designated terrorist group, says.  Hamas' goal is to destroy Israel and its statement of principles is the definition of antisemitism.
