Indian Tourist Robbed of Gold Necklace in Pattaya

An Indian tourist, Merlin Dhanapalan, fell victim to a bold robbery on Pattaya Second Road near Soi Yensabai early on December 12. Two masked suspects on a motorcycle violently snatched a gold necklace worth 210,000 baht from his neck. The robbery, captured on CCTV, shows the suspects toppling their motorcycle during the struggle but ultimately fleeing—one on foot and the other on the recovered bike. Pattaya police are analyzing the footage and urging the public for any information to aid their investigation. The incident highlights growing concerns over tourist safety in the area.
