A Thai man, Kawin Mahuakhao, is calling for a deeper investigation following the death of his mother, Somsi Mahuakhao, who passed away 10 days after receiving unlicensed chiropractic treatment in Roi Et, Isaan province.

Kawin shared details on Facebook, believing the chiropractic session influenced his mother's death. Somsi sought treatment following stress from family issues and frequent panic episodes.

Despite disagreements with Kawin over her superstitious practices, Somsi followed advice from her fortune teller, participating in a merit-making ceremony and the suggested chiropractic session. She recorded the treatment, showing unlicensed practitioners pulling on her limbs.

Somsi died from a fractured artery, and initially, Kawin didn't attribute it to the treatment. However, a similar incident involving a Thai singer's death after a massage prompted him to suspect a connection to the chiropractic care.

Yeah in Chiang Mai went to this chiropractor and his wedding room was really busy I had to wait about three weeks actually schedule appointment after work at me a little bit I kind of talk to him and I said like so what school do you learn this from etc. etc. and I found out that he never even went to school for I can’t believe that Thailand allows these people to practice and his office is fairly noticeable I mean the whole bottom and everything but yet they do nothing so obviously an unlicensed Chiropractor that was my last visit to him TIT

I’m not sure if this causes her death. They should have done an autopsy but didn’t consider it necessary at the time. It looks like a very odd massage. Not sure if that is what the fortune teller told her to do. She should be blamed as well. The young lady was autopsied and it was found that her death was not associated with the massage. I’m sure it can happen and don’t condone unlicensed massage therapy but to try to say it was because he heard about the other story makes me think there is an alternative motive.
