Correct, but I always make sure that I never do anything to the detriment of ordinary people.

I have nothing to say about charities. Still Kicking is a sweet guy here.

I give a bit to The Red Cross and some guys in Trat who are trying to save the krill, which is the foundation of all sea life in Thailand. And Cabbages and Condoms.

BUT I do want to mention to NoShowJones that I get the humor in his name and have played that novelty country classic a few times.

Yes I saw George Jones 3 times in concert, twice in London at Wembley Arena and in a show in Nashville Tennessee.

So being a pensioner I am not rich but I do donate to certain Groups for helping people (like handicapped kids or home less ones ) I feel better Do you think I am stupid?

I do the same.

I do not think that I am stupid.

My reward, I would hope, is when I die, that I would be able to keep a good spirit, thinking about all the people that I have helped, financially or otherwise...

I do not measure stupidity by the level of generosity but by the level of blue ink (tattoos) on the body

Hehehe.

I also think that tattoos are some willing mutilation, thinking that these tattoos are going to be perceived as beautiful.

But tattoos look good only to the ones with the ink stains on their skin........

No. Not at all.

But...

It would be really nice if billionaires would sacrifice the exact same percentage of their income as you do. 😉

You will need a doctor to sort that out. Should have posted this in the medical forum.

No.  You're compassionate.  Good for you. ❤️ Kudos.  You have my respect and my appreciation.
However - how much of your money is used to support the "handicapped kids or homeless ones" and how much of your donation is used for "over-head expenses" like "salaries" and "expenses" for the non-profit. That is something to look into. Ask a non-profit for their financial statements.  In the US, 501c non-profits are required by law to provide the public with those statements.  They can be utterly shocking. Some non-profits are better than others.  Look for the ones where most, if not all, of the donations go to the cause that the non-profits says it is supporting.  Here in Thailand I'm not sure that the government requires non-profits to provide the public with their financial statement. TIT.

If you want all of your donations to go to those who need it, then do it on your own - or - volunteer to work for the charity you support and get to know what your donations are being used to support.

So being a pensioner as well, I am not rich, and I take care of feral, throw-away pets, and temple dogs in my Tambon.  Unlike foundations and 501c non-profits, and those who make requests via the internet for donations, I do this out of my own pocket without the assistance of anyone. It's an exercise of compassion. This includes paying for animals to be spayed and neuter or buying meds to stop females from going into heat to the extent that I can.  I don't ask for as much as a satang from anyone.
Who thanks me?  The animals I care for.  Knowing that those animals I support are taken care of, are well fed, and are not reproducing is thanks enough. Compassion is its own reward. ❤️

No, absolutely not. Sharing opens the heart and shows a sense of compassion and humanity. Keeping it all for ourselves is only for those with a tight fist and a closed heart. Life is short, make it count for something, eating, sleeping, and self gratification just isn't enough.

Well said!  ❤️

The problem, though, is like you say. And donate to "non-profit" charity in Thailand, will most probably be like shooting yourself in the foot.

Nope. If we all did it, the world might be better. Sadly, some people ‘give’ in order that they may receive… sort of like merit making in the Buddhist sphere, while the christians do it no end. They typically only do good so that they may be rewarded at a later date. Totally b’llocks!
Bottom line: if you must, give from the heart and do not expect a return.

When did I propose that? I only assumed you were in Thailand. Never mentioned anything about banning anyone. Where did you get that from?
