IMHO they are leaving Putin to be dealt with by the Russians themselves, and the ICJ. I also think that Putin will get more paranoid and less trusting of the people that surround him.

If you go back in history to 1984, Indira Gandhi was assassinated by 2 of her own handpicked bodyguards.

Judging by the number of generals trusted by Putin who died of "unnatural" causes, Putin must be extremely paranoid by now.

These are just my thoughts and opinions.

ICJ will not deal with Putin., nor with Russia.

Gandhi's killers were facilitated by Gandhi's own sloppiness and fears, failings that will not be repeated by Putin. The Sikhs in her personal security detail were supposed to be removed, but Gandhi refused, for fear of further alienating sikhs. Nor should she have gone for a walk in the manner that she did such that she would be in close proximity to the guard post where her 2 killers were located.Putin is ex KGB and experienced in covert operations. He is no fool.

If they can get to someone so near the top, why can't they go one better?

On any scale of natural justice, I think most rational people would agree that Putin's immediate demise would be a positive thing for Ukraine, Russia and the world.

The question is though, who would replace him, and would be be better or worse? Kadyrov?

Russia detains Uzbek man over general's killing in Moscow

Russia's security service says a 29-year-old man from Uzbekistan has been detained over the killing of senior general Igor Kirillov and his assistant in Moscow.

Lt Gen Igor Kirillov, head of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Forces, was outside a residential block early on Tuesday when an explosive device hidden in a scooter was detonated remotely.

The Russian security service said the unnamed suspect was recruited by Ukrainian intelligence, according to state media agencies.

There seems to be a pattern emerging.  Yesterday I posted a video of the recent fuel train attack in occupied Ukraine, where it was suggested that partisans had been the ones who placed explosives on the line so as to derail the train prior to it coming under HIMARS and drone attack.  Other recent events include:

Mon, December 9: "The former head of a notorious prison in Russian-occupied Ukraine has reportedly been killed in a car blast in Donetsk, in what is being seen as the latest in a series of attacks on pro-Kremlin figures in occupied land.

Ukrainian media say that Sergei Yevsyukov, 49, was killed in a blast from an explosive device planted under his car, with one outlet reporting that the bomb was equivalent to about 100g of TNT".

Fri, December 13: "A senior Russian official who worked at a company that designs drones and missiles was killed in a Ukrainian operation near Moscow, according to reports.

A source in Ukraine's security services told Ukrainian outlet Pravda that Mikhail Shatsky was assassinated in a special operation by Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, the country's military intelligence service".

A Russian missile and drone developer was assassinated in a Ukrainian hit: reports

Tuesday, December 17: "Russian pilot Dmitry Golenkov, who participated in Moscow's full-scale war against Ukraine, was found dead in the town of Suponevo in Bryansk Oblast on Oct. 20, Ukraine's military intelligence (HUR) reported.

According to the agency, Golenkov suffered multiple head injuries, probably caused by a hammer".

This man piloted a bomber which intentionally targeted a row of residential apartments and restaurants.

Russian high-ranking pilot found dead in Bryansk Oblast, military intelligence says

As the BBC story says "... the latest in a series of attacks on pro-Kremlin figures in occupied land", these are becoming regular events, with the bombing of this general being the first, and hopefully not the last, to occur in Moscow.  It's getting to be like an advent calendar. Open another window to see which Russian butcher was killed today.  Russia's war criminal pigeons are coming home to roost.

Obvious really the IRA has sent instructors and set up a training camp in Ukraine so Guiness has had to send supplies which explains why there is a Guinness shortage in England.

The Ukrainians can expect a missile or three in unfortunate places in response.

If you believe Rascist propaganada. But more likely a patsy, like the supposed Russian minorities rounded up after the FSB murder of Boris Nemstov.

So now you are saying the Russians are justified in massacring civilians. Putin is doing that anyhow.  The bloke was a spook, in charge of repressing anti-Communist groups in East Germany when in the KGB.

The so-called suspect will apparently say whatever they want, then fall out of window.

I notice you are very pro-Russian.

You must be very unobservant then. I'm anti war, period, and as it's the west keeping it going, by stealing taxpayer's money to waste on bombs for Ukraine they get my greatest scorn.

I don't care who runs Ukraine, and it's a waste of money better spent making British lives better, not getting a lot of boys killed.

I've noticed that the war mongers on here don't care much about all the fathers, sons, brothers, husbands leaving weeping mothers, widows and children to suffer for nothing.

IMO it's a BS western proxy war being played by bad men hiding in the shadows. Sooner it's over the better.

You really are a piece of work trying to black me on here. I never said that, as you very well know, and your BS doesn't work on me.

You could always ask Russia to stop today, that's the quickest way to end the war. They can all go back home. Simple really.

Loving the way your attempting to use a Russian strike as confirmation of what you said. Russia makes brutal strikes daily.

The Russians are claiming that it was the British who actually did this, with television personality, and ranter, Vladimir Solovyov going as far as to say it was a British special service operation.  This is despite having an Uzbekistani man in custody.

"Step forward the Kremlin’s mouthpieces to exclusively reveal the dark truth behind the killing — apparently, the British did it. In unison, they blamed the omnipresent “Anglo-Saxons,” Russia’s favored code words for the intelligence masters in London".

Medvedev is, as per usual, one of the strongest proponents of these claims:

"Former Russian President, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev was incensed by an editorial in the London-based Times newspaper because it described Kirillov’s killing as a legitimate act of defense.

“It is impossible to ignore The Times. The bastards in their editorial called the terrorist attack against Kirillov and his aide a ‘legitimate act of defense,’” Medvedev wrote. He claimed that Times journalists and NATO officials will now be legitimate military targets for the Russian Armed Forces".

Solovyov's rant, is here.  This Russian Media Monitor channel is one of the most hilarious things on YouTube.  Almost as good as Baghdad Bob in his heyday.  The comments add to the humour, including: "Heard that a British gentleman was seen in a Moscow Casino ordering Vodka Martinis, shaken and not stirred".
