Are we really better than the Russians, Indians, Arabs and Chinese in the eyes of Thais?
Since none of us are Thai, I have to assume that we are despised equally. The Thai government considers ALL of us to be a bad influence on Thai culture. -

Foreign Drug Trafficker Arrested on Koh Phangan with Money Laundering Operation Uncovered
Singapore would give them the death penalty, if memory serves (it doesn't always, at Easter I get to hide my own Easter eggs - bada boom!) -

New Chang Beer
Ooops 330ml @ 4.9% is 16.17 ml of alcohol, and @ 4.8 is 15.84. So difference is 0.33. So do you calculate that amount of alc as a % of the total 330, or as the difference in alc content. Both ways can be correct. Yes there is 2.04% less alcohol but not in the whole 330 ml can. -

Bed Mattress
Bought this bed in a box mattress opus one from Pauler over a year ago. Best mattress I've ever had. I really wasn't expecting it to be that good since it wasn't expensive. https://paulersupermattressusa.com/product/opus-one/ -

Do you know what your tyres are telling you ?
Some good points in that post Charlie, and as I was getting worried about my tyres, despite the fact my Suzuki has only done 44,000 km, I decided to take my car to B-Qik to get them checked, and imagine my surprise when one of the fitting guys told me that the back tyres were 11 years old, and the front tyres were about six years old (I do recall getting a couple of new front tyres a few years ago). The tread depth was actually average to good on all of them, but I decided to go the whole hog and get a new set of Goodyear tyres fitted all round, but before they did that they took me into the office and asked me which wheel types I wanted????? It appears that they were prepared to change the alloy wheels along with the tyres which I thought was rather strange because I had the original Suzuki alloys, which were in perfect order. According to the fitter, it is quite common to change the wheels and the tyres at the same time, and this whole exercise would only cost me another 3500 baht, so I considered it, but then again I wanted to keep the original Suzuki alloys so I declined that offer and asked them to go ahead and just fit the tyres, which they did, and I drove home happy, and as noted in Charlie's post, I'm sure the road handling and ride was different with these new tyres on! I had a new battery fitted at the same time so I'm hoping that this little Suzuki Swift will last me for many years to come. -

Who Is Controlling the Budget Bill? Trump, Johnson, or Musk?
Yeah. The Republicans in the House of Representatives were trying to hammer out a temporary spending bill to keep the government funded for a few more months. Instead of providing his input during this process, Trump was tweeting at 3 am about annexing Canada. His head isn't in the game. It's somewhere else. -

Thailand Welcomes 294 Polish Tourists on Landmark Flight to Krabi
File photo for reference only Thailand is rolling out the red carpet for Polish tourists, with a landmark charter flight from Warsaw landing in Krabi. LOT Polish Airlines' Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner arrived at Krabi International Airport on December 19, marking a key moment for Thai-Polish travel. This special seasonal service, organized by top tour operator ITAKA, will operate until March 19, 2025, offering 14 flights and 4,116 seats. Krabi's Deputy Governor Suwit Suriyawong and TAT Europe Region Executive Director Suladda Sarutilavan personally welcomed the travelers, highlighting Thailand's renowned hospitality. The 2024–2025 winter season is expected to see even more Polish visitors, thanks to Thailand's visa exemption and enticing beach locations. Krabi, Phuket, and Phang Nga are top choices for Polish tourists seeking warm winter retreats. Poland has become an important market for Thailand, with arrivals increasing from 121,700 last year to 163,403 by mid-December this year, already generating 6.5 billion baht in revenue. This winter, LOT Polish Airlines is also adding more routes, including flights to Bangkok and Phuket, in partnership with Rainbow Tour. This expansion provides 51,971 seats across Eastern Europe. The Thai visa exemption allowing Polish visitors a 60-day stay has significantly benefited tourism. LOT Polish Airlines' new routes aim to promote sustainable tourism, offering unforgettable experiences in Thailand. -- 2024-12-20
