Thailand Increases Rebates to Attract International Film Productions

Thailand has increased its film production rebates to 15–30% to attract more international filmmakers, starting January 1, 2025. Investments over 50 million baht qualify for the primary 15% rebate, with additional benefits raising the total to 30%. Projects exceeding 100 million baht receive up to 20%. The cap of 150 million baht per production has been removed to accommodate large-budget films. Over the past seven years, foreign films have generated over 16 billion baht in revenue. The revised measures aim to boost Thailand’s economy, spread income to secondary cities, create jobs, and enhance the country's soft power globally.
