Right-wing commentator Mike Cernovich criticized Ramaswamy’s views as dismissive of America's legacy of innovation, pointing to historical achievements like the moon landing.

That was in the 60s. Since then woke has won and US schools IMO produce mediocre results. No kids want to be a mathematician now, aspiring to be in "media".

Why would a kid want to be brainy when that isn't "cool" and a guy that kicks a ball earns millions.

Besides, things like hard work and achievement are foreign concepts to a generation that actually believes the sky is falling and that a boy can be a girl, if he get's his cut off.

Nothing unique to the US though. most western countries do not value intelligence- when their parliaments are full of idiots why work hard at school? Just get a job in the government and be set for life.

China is succeeding by rewarding excellence in education.

Even Chinese in western countries outstrip locals as they did the hard work of study while local kids were looking at porn in their room or out ram raiding stores.

China has stopped rewarding excellence in education a long time ago. Ideological conformity is what is rewarded nowadays in China.

And the price will become evident only in the years to come as one of the legacies of Xi Jinping's ruling.

Being against an invasion by hordes of self-selected uneducated immigrants is one thing.

Being against inviting select highly skilled foreigners to come to work in the U.S. is another thing entirely, it is just plain stupid.

That certain right-wing nutters don't get the distinction doesn't really surprise me; they need to - and will be - reined in in due course.

Oh dear, the cracks are showing before the clown show begins. Even the dwindling number of MAGAs on here are slowly coming around to see they’ve been played.

My bet that Trump won’t last the term looks safer by the day.
