D.C. is an unfriendly, dangerous place.  While Carter had good intentions he found out that being nice didn't work.

I recall the unsuccessful rescue attempt of the hostages in Tehran. I wonder how things would have been different if it had succeeded.

My favorite about President Carter:

After his one term as Georgia governor, Mr. Carter one morning went into his mother Miss Lillian's room and said: Mother, I've decided to run for President.

Ms. Lillian replied: That's nice Jimmy -- President of what??

Will Biden and Trump both show up at his funeral together? Awkward.

Awkward? Biden voted for Trump

I'd be more worried about Pelosi, Harris, Biden and Jill being at the same funeral.  They may need more coffins.

Carter was an honorable man, but not a great president.  He more than redeemed himself after his term.  But they did him dirty pushing him out to support Harris in that condition.  He deserved better.

Its only a dark time for the hate ridden racist misogynist Socialists and their DEI, BLM, SWP and LBTCRTEWQMM++  allies. All of us normal Americans are feeling great, unburdened by what has been!

The daughter of a marxist would repeat that marxist saying all the time.

The Carter administration laid the groundwork and made significant progress toward securing the release of American hostages in Tehran through persistent diplomacy and the negotiation of the Algiers Accords. However, the timing of their release, which coincided with Ronald Reagan's inauguration, sparked controversy and speculation, overshadowing Carter's efforts in the eyes of the public. A set-up? Maybe. The so-called "October Surprise" theory did not reveal conclusive evidence to support this theory.

Oh hi Tug. Welcome back, with your tail between your legs I assume? Anyway as I have said before, Jimmy was a good man and the second worst President after Biden. RIP to him.

Normal? I remember living in Orlando, FL (DisneyWorld, etc.) and at the airport gate the announcement was: This is early boarding call for those who are elderly or traveling with small children or those who need a little extra time boarding.

... And after that announcement, there were 3 of us left.

The new thing in travel is Gate Lice.

He is an inspiration to all of us who were raised either with or without churchs to live by the basic deceny and dignity that most all our mentors and parents taught us as kids.

I wonder how many sunday morning preachers/evangelical hypocrites  will stand in front of their congregations and say...

"THIS is what it means to live your life according to the teachings of Jesus.  I apologize to you all for suggesting you elect a man that is the exact opposite of the good and decent man Jimmy Carter.  I was wrong.  We can do better."

You dont need a "good" President. You need one with balls. Peace and love doesnt cut it when a nuke is required.

In today's world we do no discriminate by age or sex.

Everyone is equal. If you have reservations about this I suggest speaking to progressives. They brought us to this point.
