Looks like you are correct, usually the 1080 files have them but even those I looked at don't have subs. ☹️

If you use VCL player, click the "view" tab, at the bottom is a "VLsub" button, it's brilliant for finding subs. I usually get results by searching name

There are a few series, I missed a couple of episodes or series, and I just sat there watching, Gomorrah was one that I found from the regulars here - I sat watching the episodes until the sun came up.

 

I did the same with this, missed the first 4 episodes, saw your post and binged on all 4 in one night, awesome. I love the Tom Hardy character, Pierce Brosnan is pretty cool, Helen Mirren, not so - but all in all - awesome show.

 

I really enjoyed The Diamond Heist documentary too.

Last night I watched the movie, "The World will Tremble" and I enjoyed it although it was not what one would call a blockbuster, all the same it was based on a true story and highlighted the plight of the Jewish folk in Nazi Germany.

 

Watching it brought back memories of when I was a teenager in the early 60s and I had watched a documentary on the BBC which showed footage of the concentration and death camps which were uncovered by the Allied troops at the end of the war, and it was shocking, nauseating and almost unbelievable what happened to these poor folk.

 

I remember going to work in the factory where I was serving my apprenticeship in England and spoke to an older German guy (tactless as I was) about what happened to these Jewish folk and how come that there were towns and villages not far from these camps, so surely somebody must have seen or suspected what was going on?

 

His reply was that nobody else knew, but this was later laid bare by a second documentary which showed footage of the time whereby German citizens in the towns and cities were catching and beating Jews, so the hatred of these people was not just confined to the Nazi death camps.

 

Such a sad episode in the history of the world.

Add that some of those in Occupied, where those citizens too delt  the same sort of devilish treatment.

Which I found a little dissatisfying.
