A 50-year-old man lost his life when he was struck by a train in Nern Sanga district, Chaiyaphum province, early morning on January 7.

Police and rescue workers from the Sawang Khunatham Foundation were alerted to the incident around 01:00. The collision occurred approximately 100 metres before the Ban Ta Nern train station in Ta Nern sub-district, Nern Sanga district.

At the scene, authorities discovered the victim, identified as Mr. Amnat, a resident of Village 6, Ta Nern sub-district, Nern Sanga district. He was found wearing a black shirt and black trousers. The impact left his body severely disfigured and partially mutilated. Nearby, a pair of neatly placed shoes, along with a mobile phone and a lighter, were found on the railway track.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading to the incident, including reviewing CCTV footage from the train station and determining whether the victim suffered from any illness or other conditions that may have contributed to the incident.

The body has been sent for autopsy, and authorities are working to contact the victim’s family to arrange for the body to be collected.
