"Even in the provinces"?

Not quite sure what you mean by that.

I recently had a filling done at a private clinic in Buriram and the X ray alone came to 1,500 baht. This was a stop gap (pun?) filling. I have a choice of extraction or crown to complete the job. A crown is quoted at about 13,000 baht and no price quoted for the extraction. The tooth in question is an upper molar. Cost of filling was 300 baht with no anaesthetic.

I have just completed a root canal procedure with a crown fitted (6 visits in total) at a private top of the art dental practice in Nong Khai. Total cost 20,000 baht

At one of the smaller clinics I visited in Bangkok, they charged me 1,300 baht for the panoramic digital x-rays alone.  Then they had me sit there for about an hour while they tried to find a qualified dentist to come in that day.  They couldn't scare one up until the next evening (after hours) so I didn't mind paying a lot more at Bumrungrad, who got me in on the spot.  In between those clinics, I went to another clinic that I'd used over the years and asked if they had anyone in, before I even let them do the x-rays.

Sorry to go slightly off topic here but does anyone know where the dentist that used to have his practise on Khao Noi is now.2 thirds up on the left hand side from the railway.Or did he retire?

Also does anyone know a good dentist in Pattaya that does not insist on taking your blood pressure? Thanks.

That's cheap.

My ampher hospital dentist charges 100 Baht plus whatever the work comes too.

I generally use them but sometimes sitting around waiting for a couple of hours is a less attractive option.

The private dental clinics are staffed by hospital dentists who can therefore only see private patients evenings and weekends.

I had an upper molar extraction undertaken in Chiang Mai end of November at private clinic. The tooth had split in half and couldn't be repaired.

X-ray, injection, extraction, dressings and pain meds. Came to 1,000 baht all in.

That is a very reasonable price.      I wonder how much the OP is willing to pay?

I can gummaly confirm its 500bt and it's the only procedure 99% of Thai dentists can do🤔

500bt !!! That's cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

Here in Samui a normal extraction is 1000 - 1200bt, a big molar will be 2000 + bt.

May be we are lucky but my experience of dentists here has been excellent, far better than the third world NHS dentists we have back in the UK.

I paid less than 1400 baht to remove one of mine, in Bang Saen. That included the X-ray and everything else. It also took a while as the root was curved.

Your price seems high.

Was that at a clinic? I use the dental dept at the BS hospital and a couple  of years ago had 2 out and they had 2 different prices.

That's a bit of a problem at Bang Saen hospital. You cannot book and they only take so many patients a day so you have to be there fairly early to stand any chance of being seen.

The price is the price.  They pull the tooth out that is it.

No that's not it. I had a rotten tooth under a crown which involved an orthodontist and cost a tad more than 1000 baht. No tooth left to pull. A split tooth is also complex.

A bog standard no complications is "it" but I'd prefer someone with lots of experience to reduce the post pain level. Cheap is for a reason.

Private clinic.

Thought it may be, but reasonable for the work  done. I used to use a private clinic in Chonburi but it became too much hassle when I started taking apixaban.

Was it super complicated? I had about 10 done on one day ( not same day ), without a crown. Crowns took 2 visits, but none were done same day as root canal.

I'm interested in the dressings. My extractions just got a bit of gauze to bite on for a while till the bleeding stopped.

Not complicated, had infection, so had to clear that first, 3 x-rays in total, temporary crown, then the real one

Not always, always used the same Dentist for around 18 years. then changed to the local Government Hospital Dentist a year ago as my upper back tooth split, my normal Dentist was a 3 day wait.

The Government Hospital dentist I thought was just a boy, looked about 16, well he was so gentle....last week was the same guy still looks young again very gentle

I had one extra unplanned visit. The dental laboratory had made an error in manufacturing one of my crowns. Fortunately, my dentist noticed it as he was about to glue it in!
