Your assumption is very much incorrect. I'm an Aussie. Bushfires are part of life as it is in CA.

Ash Wednesday, Adelaide, South Australia 1983.

Then you should understand that you can only do so much especially with 80 mph winds  trumps back stabbing is uncalled for it’s just a ploy to rile up folks

55 years in So Cal and the Santa Ana's have been part of life every year. The difference this time was the wind speeds were almost 100 mph. In the past I believe the fastest speeds were between 30 and 40.

And no rain for 6 months. It's so dry the trees are catching fire, not the underbrush.

Yep I do but I also know the importance of fuel load mitigation. Seems this didn't happen in LA or if it did it obviously wasn't enough. Massive amounts of super dry undergrowth, low humidity and annual Santa Ana winds. A recipe for disaster. As for Trump making this political at this early stage I agree. This should have been left for a while. The wash up from this should surely see heads roll.

Responding to Trump’s accusations, Izzy Gardon, Newsom’s director of communications, told Fox Digital, “We’re focused on protecting lives and battling these blazes—not playing politics.” Gardon refuted Trump’s claims, stating, “There is no such document as the water restoration declaration—that is pure fiction. The Governor is focused on protecting people, not playing politics, and making sure firefighters have all the resources they need.”

Preventing fires is far better than responding after they start. Seems Trump may have a point. I expect he will have a federal inquiry to see if it is true.

Trump wouldn't be Trump if he didn't take the opportunity to say "I told you so". He's not a polished liar politician.

You obviously haven’t been close to a big fire I have 80 mph winds there’s f… all you can do,notice most of this is across an urban landscape good luck getting folks to build concrete igloos……all of that being said trumps nasty comments are a cheap shot and unwelcome in the face of this tragedy.

Unwelcome by who?  The lefties that keep voting for these tragic policies?  Sometimes, you have to be junkyard dog mean to snap people out of their bad habits.  We call it tough love.  Pointing out that you'll keep getting what you get if you keep doing what you do.  Voting in incompetent DEI candidates that appoint incompetent DEI department heads who keep hiring incompetent DEI employees.  At gobsmacking salaries, on the taxpayer dime.  The LA Power and Water Department has MECHANICs that got paid $750K in 2023.

Let that sink in.  Gub'ment MECHANICs that makes $750K a year...

Edit:  And I'm only speculating here, but I'll bet they're still working from home, too.

There is no climate change.  Another ill informed idiot.  Did climate change cause no water in the fire hydrants.  Did climate cause the fact to save a smelt fish that the fresh water is being diverted to the ocean.  Use you head for something other than a hat rack.

That's what happens when you have a bunch of Liberals running a state, who care more about Pronouns than the welfare of the citizens.

No wonder so many are leaving.

Welfare of the citizens 😄. Trump have concepts.

It's no one's fault these things happen, and they have for thousands of years. Planning is the way to mitigate them, something Newsome will have no clue about. He is more worried about Trans toilets than disaster management.
