I don't, it's not something I'm passionate about nor will I argue for the sake of arguing. I made a post that went a little off topic, at 76 years old the demise of society doesn't concern me, what I read in the news leads me to believe that I made the right decision to live in Isaan.

I might be moving there soon.

I'll take you out for a drink if you want..

Neither are they so addictive as to be a source of crime

Semi trailer loads of illegal cigarettes proves otherwise as does  booze thinned or made with methanol. Still lots of moonshine being made.  All drugs have a crime element.

Now come on Chris your forgetting the dumb brit that arrived with Cocain in his passport in Bangkok a few months ago that surely is the British prize winner.

I know a few friends who've found a bag of coke in their wallet once on the flight, one even found a bag in his passport while in the queue for immigration!

I once lost a bag of weed while on a snowboarding trip in Whistler and had to unpack everything to try and find it before flying back to HK.  I never found it, but I was 100% sure it wasn't in my bags.  I guess maybe one of our maids took it.

I never appear nervous and suspicious when stopped by police, may be he did not have the Bottle.

Kamala police known for taking bribes, just ask a swiss guy that used to own a bar down the square. Who is still seen in that area often out of his face. Was arrested with a lot of stuff, got his wealthy parents to pay 1.2 million baht get me out of jail fees.. on the day he was released was seen trying to do another deal at a bar down the beach. He was in business with the police bagman tea money collector.

Also the fact is the Phuket police use foreign guys like him to distribute their product and sometimes they  get too greedy and pay the price by being set up and banged up.

Police arrested a British drug dealer in Phuket after observing him behaving suspiciously while meeting traffic officers on a road.

Traffic officers from Kamala Police Station stopped the British man, whose identity remains undisclosed, in the Kamala area of Phuket yesterday, January 8.

The officers reported that they were conducting routine patrols when they noticed the man, who appeared nervous and was behaving suspiciously upon seeing them. Police conducted a search of both the man and his motorcycle, discovering ketamine in his possession.

Photos shared on the police’s official Facebook page show the drugs packed into six separate plastic zip-lock bags, seemingly prepared for sale.

The quantity of ketamine led officers to conclude that the suspect was not merely a user but a dealer involved in distributing the drug. It is unclear whether the police carried out a drug test on the British suspect.

Following the arrest, the man was charged under Section 146 of the Narcotics Control Act for producing, importing, exporting, distributing, or possessing Category 2 narcotics. This offence carries a penalty of up to 15 years’ imprisonment and a fine ranging from 200,000 to 1.5 million baht.

As a general anesthesia by trained Anesthesiologists.

So is fentanyl.  I did some in a hospital when they wanted to shove a camera up my butt.

Just because doctors use medications in controlled settings with you hooked up to a monitor doesn't mean you should do it recreationally. 🙄

And yet is commonly used in Hospitals as an alternative to morphine.

No it is not. It is used  to facilitate anesthesia. It is injected into patients who are carefully screened to ensure that at risk patients are not exposed. The amount administered is controlled and is of guaranteed quality, free of contaminants.

The ketamine that is dealt by people like this person is contaminated, of unknown concentration and  is often consumed in unsafe doses by people who should avoid it, i.e. people with high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney dysfunction. Users do not consider its interaction with other substances.

This dealer is scum, and he finally  got a dose of reality.

not that it matters, but I can't help but wonder if he was actually acting suspicious, or if they just decided to search him without probable cause.

Wow, That's the biggest surprise in this article.

Whatever but I don't think the governments role is to follow trends but to set standards instead. Instead of finding solutions should situations constitute what the norm is? For instance as homelessness becomes a huge problem should policy makers decide it's OK for people to sleep in their cars or pitch tents in parks instead of finding lasting humane solutions. The use of drugs is a general sign of hopelessness and unhappiness, instead of saying OK we're overwhelmed, do what you want, shouldn't the government's job be to find the causes for it and look for solutions?

The general world wide financial weakness, if not future collapse, has lawlessness, corruption, greed and selfishness as companions resulting in unemployment, homelessness, crime and drug taking, signs of a breakdown in society as governments throw up their hands and say, 'we give up'. The problem as I see it is at the same time as we have a world financial recession we have no strong, resourceful, pragmatic forward thinking governments anywhere, populist or ideological leaders are simply worsening the situation, unfortunately we are going to have wars and civil unrest as a result.

Happy to see there is at least one clever and humane person on this forum. RESPECT !

Modus operandi for the BiB - they can't make money when a dealer is in Jail...

Very true. I used to do it after alcohol, e, coke, speed and weed. Always seemed to work best like that

I agree with you.

A British passport used to be the gold standard, these days days they appear to be handed out like confetti and are carried by people of many Nationalities and Ethnicities.

Drug dealers will be taking note, if you get pulled over, don't act suspicious 😀

Snorting a line off the top of a parked car is deemed suspicious?

There is a prison on phuket, if anything he will go there, depends on the amount of drugs nd if he get done for selling or possession

These are the charges he could face: producing, importing, exporting, distributing, or possessing Category 2 narcotics.

I think the whole situation in Thailand is very sad . It’s become the garbage tip of tourism ! And Phuket and Pattaya take the prize.  It’s not only the drugs, it’s the violence , and continuing road deaths , the country is at a standstill . It’s not only the foreigners/ tourists , it’s the Thai people as well who participate or ignore the situation. Complete degradation, and nobody blinks an eyelid.
