Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice on whether there are service providers in Thailand who help individuals with tax filing. I understand that accounting firms here usually cater to businesses rather than individuals, but I was wondering if there are any agencies or professionals who offer this service to individuals.

I’d also love to know about the general process and fees involved.

Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!

If you ring this number then you may find what you are looking for :+66 869 955 071. This will put you in touch with an accountancy firm.

I have an online session with one this afternoon in Bangkok.

As always though the question that is most important is never answered.  Where are you?

Also, before I used a tax filing agency i want to be convinced the person/agency is very knowledgeable about current laws / regulations specific to foreigners.

I would ask the person/agency to give me the name /phone number of 3 long-term customers and their phone numbers and I would call them and share a quick summary of your situation and then ask 'what comments/ advice do you have please?'

 Up to you.

I guess it's obvious that I was trying to make the point that I wouldn't use a taxation agency without being convinced that they are broadly knowledgeable and they have well satisfied clients.

Also, if an agent wants new business they should have already developed a system whereby they can impress new potential clients.

If you would accept an agent without the above that's up to you.

I personally would go to the local tax office. If you don't speak Thai, then take some you can trust with you. I find them most helpful and obliging. Just make sure you take all your paperwork, which will save a lot of delay.

Had a talk with John at expattaxthailand.com

seems reasonable and was helpful explaining the new tax system

But again each person may be looking for different things
