DWP life certificate.
I got one this afternoon 31 January 2025 from the Ministry of Defence about my military pension. It was dated 15 January 2025 and sent by Airmail. I have 60 working days from 15 January to reply, with the completed form. It took 16 days to arrive and I can send the completed form back by email or/and by post. The stupid thing is that they have my email address and mobile number, so they could have emailed me for free or called me at their expense. I am 80,m and this is the first one I have had for my RAF pension. I will go to the local hospital and get the doctors word (who should know better than him) that that I am alive. -

Tax codes?
Never took much notice before but letter from HRMC in Jan said new tax code is k559X from 2367- from April 6th. This month stopped me over 200 quid tax, normally it's 68. Thing is nothing has changed all last year stopping 68 quid off the council pension. Apart from state and council pension only about 2k a year taxable interest, at a loss to understand whey they changed it and the tax is now about 3x higher when income is the same. Do they often make mistakes? -

Can I used the lounge on Eva Air Premium ticket?
One other thing, not lounge related. Have you booked your seat yet? Usual layout is 2-4-2. If you go for a middle row aisle seat (D for sure & I think G) around rows 22/23/24 it is often my experience that I get the seat next to me free. It is a fixed armrest/drinks 'table' between seats so you can't sprawl out but it's still nice to have that extra personal space. If it is not a busy flight in Premium Economy it is also usual for the front row (20) seats not to be allocated. You can ask at check-in (I automatically get 20A if it hasn't already been allocated due to Gold Card) and you might get lucky. -

Best place to watch others
Exciting is subjective. If you don't find it exciting, then that's probably that. Personally, I find it interesting, but it would have to be while having a coffee or something, possibly wondering around, but that wouldn't quite be the same. I don't think anyone is stopping somewhere and just looking at people. It's kind of a sit somewhere off to the side or above, then enjoy some sort of food or beverage, while watching the world go by, kind of thing. -

My Thai Tax Office Tax Filing Experience...
That's the way I've arranged things too. I remitted a total of 620k฿ in '24; 282k from verifiable pre-24 savings which is non-assessable, 338k from pension receipts in '24. Above the 120k filing limit but, with TEDAs of 60/100/150/190 k, below the level at which tax is due. My plan is to repeat something similar for '25 and beyond - pension income to just below the TEDA limit and topped-up with pre-24 savings BUT in the back of my mind is the concept of First In First Out which might mean someone says that savings must be exhausted before newer income is remitted. That'd change things a bit but not disastrously. I haven't read much on that subject but I haven't been scrupulous in reading everything in these threads. -

Trump's Successful Gambit to Remind Americans of His Incompetence
Common decency says you don't open your fat gob to assign blame to whoever you fancy, for political purposes, when the bodies of the victims are not even cold. Trump has no decency, neither do some of the posters on this thread.
