I see that the UK is not allowing Cyber trucks on the road at this time and seizing any trucks that have got in to England.

As of January 2025, Tesla has showed a Cybertruck in Thailand, at the Tesla Center Ramkhamhaeng in Bangkok from April 6 to 30, 2024, marking its first appearance in the country.

Following this, Tesla organized a "Cybertruck TOUR," exhibiting the vehicle at various locations across Thailand between June and September 2024.

Wonder what Cyber Truck will need in the way of changes to meet local Thailand requirements.

Here is some of the problems that UK has with them:

The Tesla Cybertruck is currently not road-legal in the UK due to several safety and regulatory concerns.

Greater Manchester Police seized a Cybertruck in Bury after stopping a UK resident driving the vehicle, which was registered and insured abroad. The police highlighted that the Cybertruck lacks a certificate of conformity and expressed concerns about the safety of other road users and pedestrians in the event of a collision.

Primary reasons for the Cybertruck's is not legal on UK roads include:

Design and Safety Standards: The Cybertruck's sharp, angular design does not comply with UK and European safety regulations, which mandate rounded edges to minimize harm to pedestrians and other road users. Additionally, its substantial size and weight exceed the limits set for standard UK driving licenses, necessitating a Category C1 licence, which many drivers do not possess.

Lack of Certification: The vehicle has not undergone the necessary safety tests to obtain a certificate of conformity required for vehicles to be legally driven in the UK.

Efforts have been made to modify imported Cybertrucks to meet UK standards. For instance, car customizer Yianni Charalambous imported a Cybertruck and is attempting to legalize it by making necessary modifications, such as adding rubber bumpers to meet safety standards. However, these modifications still face extensive individual vehicle approval (IVA) testing, and the process is both challenging and costly.

So Tesla Cybertruck is banned and not legal in the UK primarily due to non-compliance with design and safety regulations and lack of necessary certifications, and issues related to its size and weight. Until these concerns are addressed and the vehicle passes the required safety tests, it remains prohibited on UK roads. but what, I wonder will happen here when it arrives in Thailand.

With the massive wealth inequality here, plus the 'flexibility' of laws for those with money and influence, I'm sure somebody with no sense of style or moral backbone will be driving one around Chidlom soon.

Only vehicles manufactured and assembled in the UK should be allowed on UK roads.

To heavy =  it cannot be driven on a Thai Car License

No worries , nobody really bothers with a driving license here anyway.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in your circuitous way you are saying you are not one ' with money and influence'......? and while we are at it, could you help me understand what driving a Tesla CT has to do with a 'moral backbone'?

Pretty sure where I live, I'm the only person within a 10 mile radius who has a driving licence.

It is being realized that the Cybertrucks are killing machines.

Rather than plastic and crumple zones, this is an all steel truck that will crush and tear apart any other vehicle it may hit on the road.  Of course humans would be pulped by one.

I almost bought one actually, put down my deposit and waited my turn, but I came to the realization that I did not need a US$120,000 pickup that was too huge for daily travel.   It being bullet proof and very survivable in crashes still are selling points to me though.

there's no plan for a RHD model is there ? I'd expect to see one in Camboida at some time.

I doubt in most of the developed world it would in anyway meet accident standards.

Tesla Cybertruck has never been safety tested.

Why?

NTSA: "Our budget for crash testing vehicles is limited so we try to target big sellers"

OOOOOOH. SICK BURN. 😂

Besides, this was the first time at Tesla Musk got a chance to do a "clean design".

Which is just a fancy way of saying he had no idea what the <deleted> he was doing.

Safety?  What's that?

This Is Why Tesla’s Stainless Steel Cybertrucks May Be Rusting

Who knew stainless steel might not be such a good idea for the exterior of an electric SUV? The entire automotive industry, that’s who.

Apparently, to avoid rust spots and decolorisation, they have to be hand-washed with pH 7 soap and water.... at nighttime.

.....and only sponging in a clockwise direction, with gloves on. And don't forget to make sure the water is 36.5 degrees.
