Perhaps, but then the ex soldiers are amongst their peers, not in a public place  like a bar in Pattaya. Their former work is (presumably) considered more "matter of fact" than revelling in former glories.

Never been in the SAS, but did get arrested by the Libyan secret police once. But i didn't know it at the time, or i would have shat myself. Only questioned for about an hour, guess my answers checked out, because I am still around.

When people say how difficult the SAS selection is, that is total nonsense, the Army Catering Corps is by far the most difficult, no-ones ever passed it!
