A pat on the back for the RTP who have eiminated crime in the local population and can now focus on Phuket's raison d'etre. 😀

he should demand a forensic labs test results.

Pretty sure he’d get off on zero counts of cocaine possession then..

Probably come back half Drano half Yabba lol

Good they got him while he is young before he destroys or kills people with his destructive drugs.

Wow....   fully lathered up and covered in effervescent bubbles up there on that mighty sanctimonious and puritanical soapbox of yours.....

... but careful, its slippery up there and its a long way down to normal reality....

...  I'm sure you've never made a single mistake, never gone through a red light, never not worn a helmet, never accidentally carried Para-co, Tramado or Tylenol-3 on a flight accidentally 'cos you are perfect, right ???

This is just a lad who made a stupid mistake - that you paint him as a 'drug lord' killing people with such hyperbolae highlights a lot more about your unhinged nature and inability to rein in your ridiculous judgment and ideas than anything else.

He got caught with a small amount of recreational drugs on him - something that I'd guess over 50% of young people in that area are also carrying - hardly a crime of the century.

I have nothing to do with this stuff - have never tried it, but believe it should be legalised - when taken in a controlled manner this drug Cocaine is no more harmful that getting drunk.

Phuket is full of cocaine, from chalong, rawai, patong, kamala, bang tao. Coke heads and dealers everywhere.. just need to ask a Nigerian , the police can always point you in the right direction. 😉

Thailand has been knee-deep in cocaine for decades. would take me about 15 minutes to come up with a bag -- delivered -- if I were looking.

Possession, or possession with intent to supply? The quantity would make all the difference?

Twenty years old!  My God, his life is FUBAR!  I hope he has money to make this go away and then get deported, if not, he is in for Hell on earth.

Coke is also a very nasty drug, that promises to get you to a party, but you never arrive.

Enjoy dude.

Dude is going to pay a fine and walk, stop with the histrionics,

and you do arrive, but you suspect there is a better party just down the street,

Yeah, it's probably the latter one. They usually approach you and ask if you want some, and if you do, they'll sell it to you and then make the call and the cops swoop in. It's called entrapment in other countries, but here it seems to ne legal to do that to someone.

this is such a crock of <deleted>. It is the perpetuation of a decades-old myth.

It is also horrible business, why mess with a punter likely to make several purchases?

Also, any cop doing this is doing it to make money and extort bribes to let people off.

it would certainly never get far enough to reach the media.

Approximately 15-25% of all 16- to 30-year-olds reported illegal drug use in the past year...

Thats pretty much 1/4 of all 'youngsters' enjoying recreational drugs at the weekend and going back to school or work on the Monday.....

.... These 'druggies' you mention...  those 25% of ALL youngsters you would see in Prison....

Do you, even with your Victorian draconian mindset not see some very fundamental flaws in this thinking ????

Not sure why you've quoted me. I'm guessing it's a mistake. Your point reflects mine.

By druggies what exactly do you mean? A drug taker? Alcohol? Nicotine? Coffee? They're all drugs mate or are you saying drug addict? Drink beer: Drug addict? Smoker: More than likely a drug addict as nicotine is one if the the most addictive drugs but maybe just the occasional cig. Drug addict? Coffee? I need my coffee. Without I can't function. Drug addict? Sadly the anti drug anti thought comment shows it's face again on this forum.

They're based on statistics: ONS (for England and Wales) and UNDOC (for a generalised world view).

...and, your link covers only 'teens'.... not young adults....

Nevertheless....   without going sidetracking the point and going down the pathetic rabbit-hole of who has the most accurate, representative or more up to date statistics....   the 'fact' that they all represent is that 'recreational drug use' is very common.....

.... Thus labelling 'recreational users' as 'druggies' serves to highlight one point - the user of such a term is too far removed from any understanding of the discussion to have any valid point, any comments they make are antiquated and ultimately quite stupid.

You're kidding surely. No mention of how much and no mention of how, yet you post he should be locked up. Why don't you respond to my previous post rather than this baseless tripe. Maybe you have a drug habit? Been drinking alcohol recently?

It seems you don't know what its about...

A young kid caught with an unknown quantity of cocaine....    Assuming its for personal use, the behavior is no different from 100's of thousands of other youngsters in Thailand and Millions across the globe - this recreational use in a social environment is far cry from the 'images and behavior' implied by the term 'druggie'....

Thus, in using the word druggie... all you have done is highlight YOUR fundamental misunderstanding of society...
