Thais Reject Casino Complex and Online Betting Plans Poll Shows
Government 🙄 They do what they want. You elect them but have Zero control after the election. If they require an Entry Fee to Thai Citizens it may limit the potential for loosing money to the groups with more disposable income. Additionally 0 entry fee for Foreigners targets the wealth transfer from other countries to the benefit of Thailand. Taxes, any increase in tourism or businesses that support the Casino and Entertainment Complex. The negative, Who is going to supervise the Casino is collecting the entry fee on Thai Citizens? Who is going to enforce this? So we know the answer and likely the Casino is calculating I can make an extra 50 million Baht - minus 5 million in Bribes so 45 million is worth the risk. Online Gambling, please educate me How this is a good idea at all. Creates fewer jobs, pays less taxes, creates Zero Tourism, Zero increase in businesses that support a Physical Casino/Entertainment Complex. Risks, Thais who do not have disposable income fall deeper into financial ruin and debt. What safe guards will be in place to help limit the damage to Thai citizens familes and financial futures? -

Google to build new cloud data centre in Chon Buri
Because now a days, there are so called "Edge" datacenters everywhere that caches content. AWS, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Cloudflare, Netflix, etc, all have Edge data-centers in Thailand, to make things like watching a netflix movie in 4K really smooth and fast, or some youtube video, or downloading a 20GB MacOS update. Edge datacenters are private, what is this article saying is that Google will launch it's public Cloud offering in Thailand for the customers, just like AWS just did. I use Singapore at my business, because it's the fastest and closest to Bangkok. we wont migrate to Bangkok as there is no need. the only benefit would be for people who want very low latency and real-time applications. AWS is a lot better, but Google Cloud is catching up. -

A rant about Thai driving.. I know.. Yaaaawwwnn
I nearly wiped out a motorcycle yesterday afternoon. I was driving along a busy main road doing about 40 km an hour, motorcycle came out of a side road at speed, the driver did not even turn his head an inch to look for any traffic; if I did not swerve a little to avoid him he would have impacted the side of my car. Total idiot.
