If you care to take a look at it, it says 'departure card'. So it stands to reason that it is valid until you depart. They used to request the card number when doing a 90 day report, but they have stopped doing that now so it's possible it may no longer be relevant, but there's no harm in hanging on to it. It doesn't weigh a lot does it.

OP, your old TM6 has no relevance.

 

If the new online TM6 commences May 1 then to enter Thailand after that you will do the online TM6.

Yes,till you leave the Country. My ones is also five years old and Hua Hin Immigration love it to staple it on the last page of my Passport year by year as I take it always out.

It's a quick reference for when I do my retirement visa without having to thumb through multiple stamps.

I still have mine from 2017 , I thought the number was required when we do the yearly extension and if you have to do the 90 day at your office ?

Technically yes it's still required if you have one.
