Crazy this is even needed. Should have never gone this far. Common sense seams to be lost. -

Construction Worker Injured in Pile Driver Incident at Phrae Railway Project
Picture from responders. A construction worker sustained serious injuries after his leg was crushed by a pile driver at a railway construction site in Phrae province. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 on 5 February, at the Den Chai–Chiang Khong railway project in Kanchana subdistrict, Mueang Phrae district. Emergency services were alerted to the incident by the Phrae Provincial Administrative Organisation’s Emergency Medical Response Centre (1669). Upon arrival, members of the Phrae Rescue Volunteer Association found the injured worker trapped and pinned on the pile driver about 10m up the rig and unable to free himself. Given the complexity of the situation, rescue teams coordinated with the local electricity authority, Thanakrit Electrical Company, to provide specialised working at heights equipment, to reach the casualty and to allow for the safe extraction of the victim, back to the ground. The victim has been identified as Mr. Jesadawut, a 21-year-old worker from Ubon Ratchathani province. He sustained severe injuries, including a crush foot, dislocated right ankle and abrasions on his right leg. Once freed from the machinery he was lowered by rope, given first aid and was transferred to Phrae Hospital by Wiang Kosai Emergency Medical Services for further medical attention. The emergency response involved multiple agencies working in coordination to ensure the safe rescue of the injured worker, including the Phrae Rescue Volunteer Association, Phrae Hospital Emergency Medical Team and Thanakrit Electrical Company. Authorities have urged construction companies and workers to exercise extreme caution when operating heavy machinery, particularly at high-risk sites. Proper safety measures, routine equipment checks, and comprehensive worker training are essential to prevent similar accidents in the future. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. -- 2025-02-06 -

British man’s Thailand trip goes from heaven to prison hell (video)
There is two sides to this story. One of appalling behaviour and another of appalling corruption. Where there's smoke - there's fire. And why would the police put so much effort into proving his story wrong? There's plenty of stories around about people being marched to the ATM to sort out their arrest issue. When they realised how pissed this fine specimen of a man was they thought he would be easy pickings. -

Are high end smartphones worth the money (to you)?
For me, no - I used to just buy the best top of the range Samsung model every time I needed a new phone then at some point I realised I'm barely using it. The cameras on the lower end phones were at one point better than my older far more expensive phone - which was already good enough - I don't buy a phone until I 'need' one which might be every 4 or 5 years I take the occasional photo, receive SMSs, order food and the occasional taxi via apps and my number one use for the phone - checking the time. So now the cameras are higher quality on the lower end phones I can pick up some Samsung model that costs between 5000-10000 Baht (pocket change) and it's more than good enough for what I need for a few years. So I stopped paying 20 to 30k Baht per phone a few years back. I hate Apple and their closed ecosystem from the dev side of things so I always stuck with Android phones. I have owned Apple iPads at various stages but more recently I swapped back to a Samsung Android tablet as well. -
