In America's dog-eat-dog economic system, how long do you think that million would last?

Have a nice day.

Hardly. The USA runs ninth, along with Estonia, according to the Henley passport index. Singapore is first.

How long did Singapore last when the Japanese decided to take it?  How long did Estonia last?  In fact, how long did Denmark last?

Look at the current state of the world, especially in SEA and Europe, and tell me which passport you'd prefer if SHTF.

I have a great idea.

Get the infested European countries on board to share the cost of turning it into a giant Nauru-like detention/pre-repatriation camp and let Denmark use it for free.

Everyone happy. And Greenlanders get well paid secured jobs as guard for decades to come.

That's not the right question to ask.  The relevant question is how their lives in Greenland would change if they had a cool $ million on top of what they already have and already spend.  Plus the opportunities that will open up to to drill baby drill and mine baby mine, at oilfield wages.

And that $$ million buys a lot of Obamacare, even as crappy as it is.  And we have high hopes for JFK, Jr's reforms.

For a $ million smackeroos.  And the most powerful passport in the world.

Actually, you are very much mistaken. US passport ranks in the 9th place globally, with 26 countries preceding it. Denmark is in the 4th place, so Greenlanders already have more powerful passport than US. https://www.henleyglobal.com/passport-index/ranking

And not everybody is obsessed by money the way Americans seem to be. Besides, what are you gonna spend the "$ million smackeroos" on Greenland? Health insurance?

Russia became a pariah nation when it invaded Ukraine. Its only allies are Iran and North Korea. China is lukewarm.

If the US takes Greenland by force, how is it any different to Russia?

What people with more than two brain cells would want to be part of the American health and education system?

Taking a country by force is not that easy.

To keep it by force is a lot harder, as you will probably need 4 troops for every local to cover 24/7/365.

As I claimed above, with the current state of the world, especially SEA and Europe, would you prefer a Singapore or a Danish passport when they both collapsed within days at the start of WW2?

Are you talking 85 year old events? And no, they did not collapse within days. AFAIK US was just too scared to get involved, and didn't move it's arse until 1942.

I apologize for offending you with facts.

If the SHTF, an American passport would be last on my list. IMO the one most likely to provoke extreme reactions.

It's RFK jr, and putting a recovered heroin addict plus anti-fluoride/anti-vaxxer as health czar does not give me high hopes of America's future financial, mental, physical and dental health.

IMO history would repeat itself, with a new batch of carpetbaggers. Any benefit to the Greenlanders would be transitory.
