Seafood restaurants

Okay, Valentine's Day is around the corner.

I promised my little princess I'd take her to the seafood restaurant for Valentines day.

What's the best seafood restaurant in Pattaya/Jomtien /Na Jomtien at the moment.

Price no object.

BTW, we ate at the seafood buffet, Jomtien second road, heading south, on your left just before Chaiyaphruek.

Food average, did not like the air quality, it was full of burning coal from the BBQ's.

My personal go-tos are Non Seafood at Lan Pho or Lung Sawai 2 in Na Jomtien. But if you want to eat by the sea(recommended) I would almost concur with @CharlieH and suggest that you take a look at Baan Amphur. Pupen and Lung Sawai 1 in Na Jomtien are popular... :whistling:

Pupen in Jomtien is very good. Not posh, just regular, but nice spot and the seafood is fantastic. Was there a few weeks ago on a Saturday and there was an electronic queueing system in place as it does get very busy. Not sure if they take advance bookings but maybe call them. But it's not fine dining - it is regular Thai style.

Agree, Pupen's is very good. I do believe they take bookings, but not for weekends including Friday.  Also, agree with post regarding Bang Saray - you will need transport, but better atmosphere. The one I have gone to (forget the name) is on a pier out over the water, so a nice view.

Ban Amphur or BangSaray, check google maps for reviews.

If you haven't been to Pa Boon, really nice but 1h wait for table.

Go to the left side of the parking

This is the one we use on the pier in Bang Saray.

Naklua has the best Seafood Restaurants.

Jomtien ones are especially over rated, especially Poo Pen.

Agree PP mainly caters for bus loads of tour groups, that's a no for me.

Preecha Seafood,  Bang Sare beats all.

No, it doesn't. Doesn't mean that it isn't on par with some. But no need to exaggerate.

But either way, it makes sense for the OP to take a little tour of the recommended places beforehand, to decide for himself and then to find the manager to reserve the table of his choice. Rather than turning up on the day to be offered a random table.

Another option, left of field, is Cabbages & Condoms on Soi 4 in Phra Tamnak. Not  just a seafood restaurant, but if she hasn't been there before, much more romantic than a warehouse with a tin roof near the beach.

Further to the above, a place like C&C is actually equipped for the occasion. Take a bottle of Champagne with you and they'll put in on ice and supply the glasses for a very reasonable corkage and of course pour it for you if necessary.

Seafood restaurants will, at best, supply a trolley with a bucket of ice to put in your drinks and have no idea how to pour bubbly nor will they have the glasses for it.

Of course none of this may be important to you, but since you mentioned Valentines Day, romantic trumps bulk standard.

I would suggest your ask your little princess where she wants to go.

Because maybe on YouTube or TikTok or wherever they talk about this wonderful place.

And then you invite her to somewhere else "nobody knows".

If she likes seafood, I am sure she will know where she wants to go.

No. Thai women like the man to take charge. Otherwise he can just give her the money and she can go with her friends. It's his platform to show what he knows....with a little help from friends.

I agree that mostly Thai women like the man to take charge.

But many Thai women also like to show their friends pictures of where they are and eat, etc. And IMHO the places which Thai women (for whatever reason) like, are often not what farangs prefer.

I.e. it seems some places have buckets full of seafood and people eat it all with their hands. It seems that is popular. I wouldn't select such a place. But if she likes that, why not?

He is a man. It's Valentines Day. He decides. If it's impressive and Cabbages & Condoms fits that bill, she will be happy with the photo opportunities.

The food on the table thing is old news and nothing to do with romance. Valentines Day is about romance. So it's up to him to create the scene.

In addition C&C has rabbits, birds etc and nice grounds, together with being by the sea.

Compare that to sitting under a tin roof at the beach or sitting under aircon at the Hilton(sitting uncomfortably because she feels out of place there). For me, C&C fits the bill for a pleasant afternoon/evening. Plus more choice of starters and desserts. Seafood places are really bulk standard other than the fresh seafood.

He can take her to a food on the table place another day. It's not like he's only going to see her once 😊

You've specified seafood, rather than simply fish, but for the latter, there's an enormous place on Pattaya Beach Road, near Klang

I don't know its name, but from Klang, walk south along BR and it's less than 200 metres.

It has tanks outside containing fish, lobster and crab, you go up some steps and it opens out into a big, cavernous area, with a fish pond inside. They offer free all you can eat salad bar when you order your meal, the service was very friendly and not too expensive IMO
