US anthem booed during NHL game after Donald Trump makes his move | news.com.au — Australia’s leading news site

It's totally understandable why.

There is a move now in Canada to ban the stars and stripes and the American anthem completely.

I don't believe very many Americans support Trump's aggression towards Canada.

Americans love Canada.

I am hoping that Americans start wildly cheering at the Canadian anthem played in the U.S. to send Trump a message.

As a decent non maga cult American, I want to convey a personal message to Canadians. I am very sorry for what's going on. You don't deserve it.  He's not my psychopath!

Who cares? Trump is right to fight for America and exact fair taxes. The only thing Canda has are the Geese

What are you on about? What do fair taxes have to do with Canada?

What unbalanced trade? If you take oil exports away, the us actually runs a surplus in trade with Canada. One of the few nations that's the case. What's more, Donald Trump actually pushed hard during his first term to have a second Keystone pipeline built. That would have resulted in an even further imbalance.

And I'm not going to give you an economics lesson here, but the whole notion of unbalanced trade is for the most part ridiculous. Germany and China run huge surpluses and they are both facing serious economic difficulties. While the USA's economy has outpaced all the world's major developed economies and most of the smaller ones as well. The balance of trade taken in isolation is not an accurate way to determine a country's economic health.

2023 the deficit was $43bn but whatever the figures you can't blame POTUS for trying to even out the playing field.

Unbalanced trade is because you try to sell crap that no one wants or things that are way too expensive.

What don't you understand about the fact that Trump pushed for a 2nd Keystone pipeline to import oil from Canada? If that was a bid thing, why did he push for it?

What will this do, if the Canadians become angry, to the price of Molson beer?

Fantastic post and I'm sure this is reflective of all Canadians. They all love Trudeau right? They all love the woke politics right? Where did this happen? Trudeau heartland? Stop the drugs and illegals crossing into the USA and the tariffs will go. Once again your 'that which cannot be named for some reason syndrome' grasps at any straw possible to say how bad Trump is. Well keep up the good work. Always entertaining albeit monotonous.

You do understand what Trump is doing is going to hurt Americans just as badly as the countries he put tariffs on?

Guess we'll have to wait and see if it'll be worse than under Biden. My guess is it won't.

But for how much longer I wonder?

If I was a Canadian leader, I'd be looking for other countries wanting to buy Canadian oil.

It must be difficult for the socialist Canadians to live in the shadow of the most powerful Democracy in the World now under the rule of one of the strongest most Patriot Presidents in U.S. history. Now the socialist Canadians will actually have to work for a living rather than sell their goods to the U.S. while imposing non-reciprocal trade with the U.S. Let them boo all they want and cry themselves to sleep.

The stock market reached record highs under Biden. Trump has spooked investors badly, $50 billion was wiped off the ASX today.

Your guess is wrong already.

The US is not a democracy, it's an oligarchy.
