Trump’s mad, mad, mad, mad world—now with extra madness

So perfect, China has put 75% tariffs on all American imports in response to the extra tariffs Trump imposed. The CCP will probably also restrict or ban the export of strategic elements vital for modern technologies, such as electric cars.

American farmers who were put to the sword in the last Trump administration now have a double whammy. A repeat of being unable to sell into China, their biggest market, who will just look for other suppliers. Same effect as when Europe told Putin where to shove his gas. PLUS not having enough low wage undocumented immigrants to pick their crops, thanks to Trump's deportation policy.

Trump is an economic imbecile. It doesn't say much about the economic literacy of 50% of American voters either.

The leftist label is invariably posted by people who are bereft of any countervailing facts.

Time will tell.  Liberals fail to understand a POTUS that can think outside the box.  They (Liberals) continue to double down on policies that lost them the election by a vast margin.  Liberal ideas are so for out touch with "common sense" that even James Carville describes them as "stunningly stupid".  His words, not mine.

Not even close, he was not elected by the majority of Americans, he was elected by a minority and he supported by a minority.

And he's infinitely less popular overseas.

"And he's infinitely less popular overseas".  I'm inclined to agree with you on that.  The USA Sugar Daddy spigot is being turned off and many don't like it.  Can't say that I blame them.

It's one thing to think outside the box. It's another to be batsh!t crazy.

Common sense says alienating your closest allies with tariffs is stupid.

Common sense says crucifying your farming sector with tariffs not once, but twice, is moronic.

Common sense says making a trade enemy who can cut off your supply of vital, strategic raw materials with the stroke of a pen is daft.

Common sense says when you offer your Federal employees voluntary redundancy, you will lose your best and brightest. You'll be left with the office politicians and clock watchers.

Common sense says when you pull out of the WHO, you are facilitating new pandemics. Bacteria and viruses don't give a rat's rectum about national boundaries.

Common sense says when you say you are going to dispossess 2 million Palestinians, said people will embrace every terrorist group in the Middle East sworn to bring down the Great Satan.

Common sense says when you deport your lowest cost farm workers, prices on the supermarket shelves will increase.

I agree the liberal side of politics got themselves tied up with peripheral concerns. That doesn't change the fact Trump is like a bull in a china shop, who can't see past his nose.

What Trump does can't affect me, short of a nuclear war.

I can be objective, what about you?

After all your gibberish about common sense it is apparent you have very little.

Ah, the last refuge of the MAGA cult. Personal abuse. Goodbye, SFB.

Its the very opposite of "think". What comes to mind is impulsiveness, reactionary.

"Thinking out of the Box" is frequently something panic'd companies do when they turn in desperation to consultants to no avail.

Thinking out of the box, creative thinking, lateral thinking  is much more than spit balling.

Take Greenland. Trump wants Greenland. He doesn't want China to have Greenland (even supposing that is actually possible). His thinking "out of the box" is either bombing the hell out of Denmark (it will cost money), or sanctions (a trade war with an EU member state, sparking a trade war with the EU; even Trump acknowledges a small trade war withn a country of less than 50 million (Canada) will hit Americans in the pocket). Neither approach smacks of "thinking out of the box". They seem straight out of the Expansionist Dictator/Imperialist playbook. So he's following utter convention, albeit with a stupid idea.

So he selectively thinks out of the box?

POTUS better start thinking inside i.e. the domestic economy. His America First pledge has being largely ignored for his deluge of crazy foreign policies.  The economic indicators are not looking good with Job growth below forecast, consumer sentiment down and inflation has picked up 1% which is a large increase. Unemployments will go up with all the firings and the FED will hesitate to cut rates adding woes to the economy. His supporters will turn on him when the economy pains hit home. Personally I don’t see his policies will improve the economy and may go into a recession this year.

I get the feeling that every Trump pronouncement makes USA look weak (at least in the thinking department).  He's established a huge lead in the race to the bottom.

Trump says a lot of things just to get a reaction, yet many (mostly the left) fail to understand that.  This is how Trump works and that's why the vast majority elected him.  He's already getting what he wants in Panama, Canada and Mexico.  More to come - stay tuned.

And judges keep on blocking his orders........................stay tuned for his demise.  How long do you think the US population will accept Musk's closures with the ensuing job losses?

But most of the rest of the world, except Russia and China do agree with me.

What that idiot does inside America is your and America's problem.  What he does outside of it is the world's problems!
