A young Lao man suffered a severe injury after his leg was caught in an animal feed mixer while working in Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima.

The workplace incident occurred on 10 February in Ban Pha Phai, Chanthuek subdistrict, Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima, when a young man from Laos lost his left leg in a horrific incident involving the drive shaft to an animal feed mixer.

Emergency responders from the Sawang Wicha Pak Chong Rescue Unit, along with medical personnel from Pak Chong Nana Hospital, rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call.

Upon arrival, they found the man with a traumatic amputation of the lower part of his left leg, below the knee, caused by the powerful machinery. First aid was immediately administered before he was transported to Pak Chong Nana Hospital for emergency treatment.

Doctors worked to stabilise his condition, and further medical interventions are taking place, with the worker in the intensive care unit.

The incident has highlighted concerns over workplace safety, particularly in environments where machinery is used. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
