NYC Catholic School Teacher Resigns After Heated Anti-Trump Rant at Student
It sounds like this teacher is suffering from the dreaded "Trump Derangement Syndrome." I am glad that he resigned and I hope that he gets some serious mental medical help before he hurts someone. -

A Desert Dream Fades: The Rise and Fall of the Ivanpah Solar Plant
Indeed it has. The same type of people that will be rubbish in this project would have been rubbish in solar and batteries ten years ago. But rather than being pleased in this significant advancement they will double down and still be negative. Mostly people that identify as “right wing”. Strange people. -

US passport renewal
The policy is to do it by mail. I suppose if you're willing to lie to be let in and you're near Bangkok anyway, you might try to replicate the story of a guy who did it in person. That won't be relevant to people outside Bangkok and people who are uncomfortable with lying to fool the screening people to get in (which may or may not work). Because of this, I would say forget about doing it in person. If it became a big thing for people to lie to get in, surely they would figure that out and put an end to that being a possibility entirely. -

Thailand Ranked 106th in English Proficiency Out of 116 Countries
Complete and absolute rubbish based on your incapacity for an intelligent thought. What about native speakers with an education degree? How about those with an ordinary degree and a CELTA (my guess is you don't know what a CELTA is)? What about an ordinary degree, a diploma of teaching in a 2nd or other language and a CELTA? An education degree and a diploma in teaching in a 2nd or other language? Masters in linguistics on top of an education degree? A teacher that teaches a 2nd or other language in no way needs to know another language. They need to know about language acquisition and how to teach it. You really just keep showing your complete lack of understanding. Of course there are some who can be well qualified and be bad teachers just as there can be some who have little or no education in the profession but can still be good teachers. Sure Thailand's full of useless farang teachers with dodgy degrees but to say "Most native speakers are terrible English teachers" is simply your opinion with no actual basis. -

Thailand May Ease Overseas Income Tax Rules Amid Global Changes
But in every instance the Tax due was reported as zero or negligible, so why not? They just followed the rules. If my tax office was in Silom I'd do the same. But I live in Nakhon nowhere and I doubt anyone here knows about RD 743.
