had my first "proper" golf lesson last weekend at the ex- david leadbetter academy at bangna on tanya city course..

the top instructor there is thai but taught for leadbetter in USA for several years...his english is excellent..

not cheap.. 3000 baht/hour for top guy...1500 baht for other pros.

during the week he teaches thai national team and a couple of the famous thai pros.

i was very impressed.... whole approach very proffessional.... you also get a dvd of your lesson with the pro talking over the top to use as a reminder..he splits the screen and puts you next to a pro..for me it was charles howell III ..it was hard to tell us apart...ahem...

feels like plenty before the lesson..afterwards it felt like reasonable value...

btw the guy is booked up..tricky to get a spot...

( oh i got nothing to do with him or the business) ..just wish i had...

cya on the asian tour...

My Pro, and English guy, is at Wilding Golf Academy near Nichada Thani, 1500 Baht an hour (ish) and has the video thing, no DVD though, but seems to be good.

charles howell III

Wasn't he the millionaire on Gilligans Island?

OOps, sorry that was Thurston Howell III

In CM check out Spike (American) or Khun Kitti (Thai) who can be found at either the Green Valley driving range or at the Airport driving range across from Airport Central Plaza. Cost is a lot less expensive than Bangkok area pros and their instruction is terrific. My only problem was finding time to see either of them. They definitely helped me to play better golf and move up to a new game level. Broke 90 thanks to their coaching. Excellent short game assistance and they keep you focused on the wedges until you are ready to move up to the longer clubs. They are booked heavily and have a few favorite customers who probably pay considerably more than the normal fee of THB 6,500 per month (gets you up to 15 x 60-minute lessons). Spike tends to work with Farangs, while Kitti works with locals and kids.

It sounds like Khun Mongkol. If it is, he is worth every satang, but don't copy his backswing.

I'm interested on a video/DVD lesson, where i can get that ?

I can recommend Wilding Golf Performance Center - they got lots of good pro's and video capture + analysis software.

Fore Man,

Thanks for the kind words and I'm glad your adjustments are paying off!

I was offered a job that included a work permit at The Prem International School here in Chiang Mai. I am now the Director of Golf at The Prem Golf Academy where we not only provide lessons for the students but also for those outside of the school. Our new website is being constructed and hope to be up by February.

We have programs for Adults and Juniors such as 3-5 day schools and camps. And....we are offering a 50% discount until the end of June. You can email us at [email protected] for more info. (hope its ok to print that?)

If anyone has questions about their golf swing come and see us or ask on this forum. It gives purpose to my life to give you the most accuarate information I can. Let's talk golf swing!

Thanks again Fore Man for the kind words.
